Re: Doom Hack videos

Yes, the original tutorial had them uncompressed. I followed that tutorial the end but there was a 2nd part not in the tutorial that I was given access to where the compression came into play. It was an integral part of making it work in the end so I outlined the process in my thread on RVG for anyo...

Re: Doom Hack videos

Cool, I didn't know ggn did a hack. I'd only ever heard of neo_rg doing them. His guide is where I learned this. Pretty interesting read. I added massively to it here and worked out most of the redundant issues making it even simpler to crank out levels at an accelerated pace. I wish more people wer...

Re: Doom Hack videos

LOL they're all compressed. I only did 12 to 13 maps each because some of them were so enormous, #14 would have exceeded the original allotment of code usable to put them in. Overwriting the data for map 24 causes sound sample issues so you can really only overwrite to the end of map 23 safely. The ...

Doom Hack videos

Here are quick play throughs of all the mods/levels I've made so far and hacked into Doom ROMs. A few of the videos have some lag but only because my laptop couldn't handle running PT and Fraps simultaneously during some of the more intense sections that even real hardware has slight problems with. ...

I think so too :D
Thanks a million for ripping and sending me the 32X wad. Also for playing through to test the levels.
I should get an extra label with the pack and can send it your way if you want 8)

Re: JagDoom levels on the 32x!

After porting these (back) to the Jaguar, I got a pcb made and sent to me. I've since put a clear cart shell on it and waiting for a label. Have a guy making it and several others for me. It's crazy to play these on real hardware lol The labeled ones are all my other hacked levels, the 2 Doom II mod...

I got it a while back but got beat so fast I gave up.
Tried using the guide at AA but I still suck, so not much progress. I'd like to master this game but too much time investment.

Re: JagDoom levels on the 32x!

Thanks for this. Took it for a spin myself and opened the wad in Doom Builder 2. When I get a chance I'll lengthen my excel file and try to hack all 17 levels into a single JagDoom rom. Call it the WalterJ levels or something 8)
Awesome work!!

Yeah Jags are through the roof now  Glad I got an extra when I did, would hate to be starting to collect for this thing right now. Seems impossible to find it all anymore, let alone the prices of some items.

I'm hoping Carl gets back on this soon. Too close to give up now

Re: DOOM with fixed networking

I've played the heck out of this and found it to crash on Area 7 repeatedly during Co-op. Other than that, no problems in Areas 1-6 and 8-10. Still quite a way to go but having a blast tearing through this game. Not sure if it's an accident but found whoever presses the B button first to connect whe...

DOOM with fixed networking

Been watching a thread at AA where Carl from Songbird and a few others have been working to fix the network bug. Turns out it's NOT the infamous UART bug in the hardware but entirely in Doom itself. Now, it's been worked out and is supposed to be solid.. After I asked if someone would post a working...

I was wondering the same thing. Even considered if it was some code to test the site with and maybe there's not really a game in the works.
Either way, I'll be popping occasionally to take a look :D

I put this together over a couple of months since there apparently wasn't a resource available anymore and while it has elements of a "what I experienced while playing through the game" description, it solves the puzzle(s)-if anyone's stuck. While some elements will vary, like exact enemy placement...

I emailed them a couple months ago and asked if I would actually be receiving the game or was I just on the list as a backup or something (since there was an auction for a copy I was interested in.) I found the controls were very sharp and couldn't control the paddle very well.

Painter CD - Encrypted

I was posting about Painter CD the other day and the thread evolved into a solution for making an encrypted version, thanks to Gordon's source code, Belboz's tools, Reboot's ULS Boot and JiFFI. (This may have been done before but was unknown to me) The resulting .cof converted to ROM file, with JiFF...
