Isn't 3DO Wolfenstein a port of the Mac version and not the PC?

This is all gammadev's fault. Are he and ewhac here anymore or have they lost contact with the site as well?

Re: The game that got canceled!

Mega Man X3. Apparently the version actually existed and was available very briefly at retail. There's a thread on this board that discusses it. I already have it on the Saturn, but I'd love to see how the game runs on the 3DO, if parallax was removed/if the game scrolls at 60 fps. It would have bee...

Didn't Capcom remove the layered scrolling so the game would run at 60fps? Isn't parallax scrolling taxing for the 3DO?

Re: Screwed up colors/random pink with Japanese FZ-10

I wanted to test the s-video signal, but my trinitron and my Samsung flatscreen only have composite and component. I don't know how to solder at all, so fixing it would require shipping it to someone else and paying them for their efforts. I shipped it back to Japan a couple of days ago. It's a sham...

Re: Screwed up colors/random pink with Japanese FZ-10

The more I thought about it, the more complicated/impossible to fix this sounded, so I sent it back to Japan for a refund. I'm really disappointed, but I didn't feel like sinking the time/money it would take to even diagnose the problem. Now I'm kind of wary to ever get an FZ-10 again.

Re: Screwed up colors/random pink with Japanese FZ-10

UPDATE: I've opened it up to look at the caps and noticed that the 150uF 200V cap on the PSU has a glob of gray "putty" near it that's forming a connection between a diode and some other components on the PSU. That's all I could find that looked suspicious. Could that be a possible cause? http://i13...

I just got a Japanese FZ-10, but it has a display problem. Here's a thread I made detailing it:

Screwed up colors/random pink with Japanese FZ-10

I just fired up my Japanese FZ-10 for the first time and immediately noticed that the yellow circle in the 3DO logo had a pink tone to it. Then the R.E.A.L logo was outlined in pink. Then the bios screen with the bouncing objects was pink instead of gray. Then I put in Virtual Horror and the title s...

I'm writing it in C# so it should compile under OS X using monodevelop. BTW I've decompiled the Dr. Hauzer ISO and I can confirm the script is in plaintext. Sweet! So it would literally just be a matter of replacing those script files with translated ones, and re-signing the disc? Easiest script du...

The game doesn't look "bad" per se, just weird. I'd probably find it entertaining. That doesn't mean it's really good, though.

I just scored a Japanese FZ-10 on ebay sunday night for a less than average price. Excited! When I bought Belzarion (it's actually NIB) in late december I had it shipped to my home instead of school. Unfortunately, it didn't arrive until the day after I came back to school so I won't be able to play...

That's a little disappointing. At least now I know not to bother buying a JP2X. Good to see you here, NeoGeoNinja. I haven't been active on the saturn board partly because I forgot my password and partly because I got my computer reimaged and it's no longer on my bookmarks so I never think of it.

Nice find! I'd love to have an FZ-10. I love my FZ-1 but I can't help but not trust an early 90s motorized CD tray (thinks of Sega CD model 1 *shudders*). Plus the built in memory manager must be useful.

2nd model Panasonic gamepad vs 1st

Is it true that the second model controller from Panasonic, lacking the headphone jack, is better than the original? I've heard that the d pad is easier to use. Is it as good as a MD or Saturn d pad? I'm mostly satisfied with the original pad I have, but I've noticed it's sometimes hard to keep movi...

I always wanted to see more driving games, either 2D scaling or 3D, on the 3DO. Idk which (if any) have the source code released though and it would be really difficult to make one from scratch.

F1 GP had a lot of promise, but it's clearly unfinished.

That's a great collection. How is the 3DO viewed these days in Japan? It clearly performed better commercially there than anywhere else which is strange for a western developed piece of hardware. Is it pretty much ignored and forgotten about? I hope not.

Necrobump

Is there any reason why Namco chose to use FMV for the game instead of realtime 3D? The flat shaded polys don't look like anything the 3DO couldn't handle. Even the textured ones don't look too taxing given that objects do the same thing every time you play the game.

I like this one quite a bit. It's a slower paced Shining Force, but anything that plays like Shining Force is ok with me. I do wish there was more story to it. One thing I want to ask, is the 3DO fully capable of transparency? Some of the magic I've used in the game definitely looks like a real tran...
