Re: Documenting 3DO Game Contents

It's that time again! Today, I received a sealed copy of Psychic Detective, so let's open it up, and see what's inside! EARLY WARNING: If you are using a modem, you will die of old age before this post fully loads. Also, live in the now! https://i.imgur.com/hvJqwir.jpg Front of the longbox, still sh...

Re: Doctor Hauzer English 1.0 Released!

Hey, ArcaneAria. I recently bought a copy of Doctor Hauzer, and seeing how it was on my mind, I decided randomly to take another look around the disc to see if anything could be done about those cutscenes. From what I can tell, the cutscenes that contain untranslated text are all in the OrgData\stre...

Re: Recent 3DO Purchases

Got some good stuff on the way: -Dr. Hauzer (JPN) -Shockwave: Operation Jumpgate (USA) (Sealed) -Psychic Detective (USA) (Sealed) When they arrive, I'll post pictures of the sealed games in the Game Contents thread. :D Forgot to mention, but I also picked up Lost Files of Sherlock Holmes a while bac...

Re: Recent 3DO Purchases

Forgot to mention it before now, but a while back I picked up a copy of Road Rash, the rare CD Sampler version. It took forever for me to find one with the audio CD! :D

Killing Time (PC) re-released on gog.com!

I haven't seen anyone mention this yet, so I might as well break the news. The PC version of Killing Time has come to gog.com! I haven't bought and tried it out yet, but GOG is a great company for re-releasing old PC games digitally. I've bought many of their releases and they've been around for a w...

Re: Doctor Hauzer English 1.0 Released!

Congrats on the release! :D

I'd recommend making patches and submitting them to romhacking.net. That would really help get your work noticed, and might even enable you to find someone who can help with those cutscenes!

Re: Recent 3DO Purchases

This week, I got C.P.U. Bach and Stellar 7: Draxon's Revenge. Stellar 7 is a nostalgic game for me, as I used to watch my dad play it all the time as a kid. :)

Re: Recent 3DO Purchases

Got a CIB copy of Sewer Shark for a good price, which arrived on Friday. Only tested it for a couple minutes, but I'll be giving it a good playthrough soon. I liked the Sega CD version, despite its sub-vhs video quality and grating music. This version seems to be a big step up, so I can't wait to gi...

Re: Doctor Hauzer Beta Test Thread

That conversation is already looking much better! It's a lot easier to follow and much more natural than what was there before. The only lines that still feel a bit off are Adam's "That appearance?" and "Why did you go this far?" Everything else is a huge improvement. EDIT: One more thing I thought ...

Re: Doctor Hauzer Beta Test Thread

Completed the game! Here is what else I noticed: Item #6 - When you find the first corpse, there's a line about "Why is it mummified?" The line uses the word 'dead', as if there were multiple bodies. The word 'corpse' would work better in my opinion. Item #7 - Examining the walls of the inside of th...

I used 3DOResExplorer, and went one frame at a time through the video until I confirmed it. I wish there was a pre-compiled Windows version of that GIMP plugin...that would probably make things so much easier...as is, I can't even install the prerequisites...

Re: Doctor Hauzer Beta Test Thread

I FOUND THE OPENING CUTSCENE! :D

It's the OPDS file in the OrgData/stream folder! There's a few other cutscenes in that folder as well.

I didn't see the post-Main Menu scene where you enter the house, but I'll keep looking!

Re: Doctor Hauzer Beta Test Thread

I definitely want to translate the opening cutscene into English. Looks like with the tools posted earlier I should be able to generate a new animation file, but I don't know how easy it'll be. I don't think I'll be able to modify the short scene where he touches the doorknob and it breaks, but he ...

Re: Doctor Hauzer Beta Test Thread

Wow, this is a great start! I played Beta 2 for a couple hours earlier today and I really like it so far. The terse, minimalist nature of the translated text actually adds to the feeling of mysterious dread that the game imposes. Are you planning to translate all of the text in the game? I'd love to...

Re: Introduce yourself.

That's strange. It was a Yahoo search that led me here. I think I was searching for 3DO homebrews, and I stumbled across this forum by blind chance. There weren't many other online resources for the system, so I bookmarked the forum and registered.

Re: Introduce yourself.

Hello, everyone! New member here. I've always been a fan of retro and obscure video games, but it wasn't until fairly recently that I became interested in the 3DO. I recently bought a slightly beat-up, but working Panasonic FZ-10, a controller, and a few games, and I must say, I am really enjoying i...
