Re: Various 4DO problems

Is the BIOS running? Make sure a BIOS file has been configured in the File Menu. It should automatically play the boot up screen for which ever bios you use. Maybe the crashing canceled out the first run message that tells you to select a bios.

Re: Various 4DO problems

i dont know why it wont detect your cd drive. I dont have my cd drive in my laptop right now to test and see if its windows 10 causing the problems. Your best bet would be to make a cd image of your disc. It's going to run better from an image than from a disc. bin/cue format should work, and i beli...

Re: Sewer Shark

IIRC constantly shooting drains more energy and some of the enemies that can hit you drain your energy too. I don't remember exactly how far into the game is level 6. If you give me what cut scenes are at that point id probably remember but I think there should be more than 2 recharges up to that po...

Re: 3DO FZ-10 BIOS swap to change region

I remember seeing someone doing some sort of bios switch in a youtube video. I think it can be swapped if it's just a region change. I think it would be fun to completely change the bios to see what would happen. I bet it would still work. I only have a US FZ-1 so I don't have any other bios chips t...

Off Topic: Long load times on a CDR might mean the laser is dying out. It's usually the first sign. It will probably still run originals fine though i bet. CDRs will kill the laser quicker than original discs though.

Re: LameNES (NES emulator) for 3DO ?

I don't know if this is going to help you at all but according to that screen shot of mario above, the emulator is over rendering from the nametable. It is rendering the first column of the $2400 nametable along with the whole $2000 name table on the start up screen. I don't know if that would slow ...

I don't know for sure, but it might need to see a save file in NVRAM from the original game.

Re: Recompiling Dr. Hauzer for Translation

When I run the game on 4DO, it reads as "Unknown Game" instead of "Dr. Hauzer" like the unmodified disc does. This breaks save states, but regular saving works just fine. I would like to fix this for polish if possible. This is easily fixed by adding a game entry for it in 4DO's game database and t...

What is your system specs and what game are you trying to run? Also turning off some of the options that enhance the graphics might stop the audio from skipping.

Re: Japanese 3DO FZ-1 overheating (I assume), discs hard to

I do believe there is a thread about repairing it somewhere, but the laser lens will likely be the culprit and will need replacing. I think someone found a source for these... I can't remember. I also don't know anything about the repair. It's nothing I have ever done before. My FZ-1 just sits in a ...

Re: Japanese 3DO FZ-1 overheating (I assume), discs hard to

Not sure about the heat, but the disc behavior is a sign the cd drive is going. It will probably still read original discs decently, but CD-Rs will put the machine through hell. My FZ-1 has this same exact behavior. It used to be fine but I think I killed it playing too much Star Control II on a CD-R.

It shouldn't need Administrator access at all. Did you by any chance install it into a folder that the OS would be restrictive about giving permissions for? I don't recall seeing this error yet truthfully.

Probably due to changing the name from 3DO [Zero].

Hmm. Seems you cant type 3DO [Zero] without brackets. Someone is messing around with the auto word changes again.

It's easier to see in the 3do version, but there are two lights at the top of the tunnel side by side. One is red and one is green. Go to the green side. If the right one is green, go right. Or you could just memorize them all after trial and error like most people had to do on the sega cd version d...
