I bought mine just after the PS1 took off in a big way. Mainly I bought it due to the fact that I intensely disliked the PS1 when I was a kid and refused to go along with the crowd and buy one myself, there was also an element of wanting to be a rebel involved I think  Not to say I didn't think...

As far as I can tell there are two endings in the 3DO. Three in the PC version is absolute. I guess so, its just that multiple endings in FPS games wasn't really the norm for the time so I find it surprising that Studio 3DO put the time in to make two, but have them both as being bad endings. Also,...

Re: Alone in the dark
I'm a big fan of this game, and love it to bits. Often I wished they had updated the 3DO version instead of just porting the PC version. I'm fairly certain they updated the sound with better quality, added music and voice acting though, or was that on the PC version too, I can't remember anymore LO...

My website has a little bit of info on it, I have a list of the scores given by the old 3DO magazine (unfortunately its scores only and no reviews) http://retro-sanctuary.com/3DO%20Reviews%20page.html and I made a top 40 3DO games ever list which is here http://retro-sanctuary.com/TOP%2040%203do%20G...

Re: 3DO in Your country.
Alright, so I'm thinking of vanity publishing a coffee table book for the 3DO. I wanted to gather together a multinational view of the 3DO in your countries. For the UK (you can disagree with me by-the-way) The 3DO was seen as niche machine and quite expensive, probably similarly in some ways to th...

Is Killing Time smooth on NTSC?
I've just been watching a video of Killing Time on Youtube and it actually looks much, much smoother on NTSC than PAL, has anyone compered the two?
Seriously if that game is actually smooth then my already high opinion of it has just gone up, that was the only problem with the game.

Just thought I'd add that the 3DO version of Street Fighter II was based on the final original revision (there was actually another much later anniversay revision released in 2003) It was the only console port of the final version for the time period (collections released on PS1 weren't for another ...

Yes, but 3DO tried very hard in UK, bu in the end it was to expensive for the British market. The 3DO wasn't really too expensive for the UK market, it was launched at around £400 with a game as opposed to the £400 without a game that the Saturn was released at a year later, and once the Saturn/PS1...

Negativity, if done right, is an art form. No one says Edge has an in-ability to communicate, and communicate subtly. You read Edge 8 thru 23 (which ever saw Playstation/Saturn released) and there is a constant, even when they are handing out good scores, negativity against the Jag and 3DO. There i...

To be honest dude I think EDGE always treated the 3DO pretty fairly, they never hated on it like they did the 32X or Jaguar and they still didn't completely count it out even when the M2 was announced. I've got a Top 100 Games Ever made feature from 2000 in EDGE which even then has Return Fire and N...

I know what you mean about Deathkeep, when I was making my list I kept thinking it must be better than Slayer, more variation, better cinematics, a proper storyline it has to be better.... but all said and done the gameplay just isn't there and the difficulty curve is a bit of a mess, At the end of ...

Yeah the pad hating is definately one of the most common BS critisms of the 3DO I see out there, I constantly see people saying it was "unusuable" and "one of the worst controllers ever" I'm sorry but this is just bollocks, I never really had any trouble with the pad, yeah occasionally it could be s...

There were some great articles I recently divided and sold mine between Bitrate and Trev. Yes there was much onesided optimism but we'd just spent a months wages on the system and needed some reassurance! We need to seriously look at having them scanned and archived over time as some other forums d...

Actually, since the gunslinger collection contains the original Mad Dog, it would be very UNWISE to include it in anything but a list of worst 3DO ports ever! Yeah but Mad Dog 2 and Crime Patrol are both pretty good aren't they? would you rather buy one good gun game on it's own or get two a...

Creature Shock. Dr Hauzer. I liked 'em :) If Dr Hauzer is as good as I've heard I think it would certainly be worthy of going straight into the top 10, but I've decided no imports with too much Japanese writing, it only took me about 10 minutes to work out what everything did in Sailor Moon so I'm ...

I would put EYE OF TYPHOON just below SAMURAI SHOWDOWN in terms of playability, but equal to Sailor Moon on overall graphics. Drax Whoa that game looks excellent! I take it from the other posts around here that it's pretty much impossible to buy though. On another note, I think Sailor Moon is a pre...
