certainly more than the Sega CD version, which I didn't like at all. But the SNES version is still nearest and dearest to my heart.

Re: Out of this World: 3DO still got it

I dig the 3DO version. My big issue with it though is that it runs way too fast. It makes areas of the game much harder than the original (and not in a good way). The modern remastered versions are the way to play this game now, but the 3DO one is still a good experience too.

Very cool. I suppose that will suffice for now. I'd really like to see this forum get fixed though. Still, considering AA is basically my forum home on the web.. I'm OK with this.

I have no proof either, I just always assumed it did. Might want to post this over on the CD-i forum. They don't get a lot of posts but people are still lurking, they'll probably help you out with this info.

Re: Recent 3DO Purchases

It's nothing special, but I picked up a Goldstar system last week. My Japanese FZ-1 is still functional, but since replacing the disc drive it has seemingly lost the ability to play games via.. erm, alternative methods. The Goldstar seems to do it just fine though, so I'm back in business with some ...

Re: Is this the most active 3DO forum on the web?

I think the most logical solution is to try to get the Google spider un-banned. The CD-i forum has no issues with that as it comes up in a Google search, so I don't see why it can't be fixed for the 3DO side. I admire the passion some of you guys have with the want to make a new forum. However, I ha...

Re: Flashback

You sure about that auto-jump? I do have the manual for the game, and it says you have to tap "up" to do the running jump. Plus, I have successfully run off the edges of platforms. You use it at this part here and the person narrating the video explains it: https://youtu.be/e3QsF3BzKAo?t=15m46s Tap...

Re: Flashback

You'll get the hang of it. It takes time but there will be a point where the jumping, platforming, rolling and the gunplay feels natural. It's stiff and rigid, but you get used to it and eventually get into a flow with it. Just a fair warning for the second level, there is an auto-jump mechanic for ...

I believe saving is done at various kiosks throughout the stages. You probably haven't run into the first one yet. At least, I think that's how it works. It's been a while.

Flashback is, like Prince of Persia and Out of This World, full of trial and error.

(some guy from Id Software claims Wolfenstein 3D and Doom had a 1:1 attach rate on the Jaguar) He's probably mistaken. There are official Atari documents that show official sales numbers, and I believe no game outside of T2K and AVP had more than a 25% attach rate (about 50,000 units of the 200,000...

This forum software is kind of archaic..

I haven't figured out a way to mark a specific forum as read without going to every thread. If anyone knows, I'd be curious if there's a way to do it.

Completely. Except for some menus and dialogues, the rest of the game is the same. OK, thanks for the reply! How much would I miss out on, then? For some reason, the North American release is impossible to find on eBay lately. You could have a walkthrough of one of the USA versions by your side, ty...

Crash 'n Burn is hard to get into. I remember thinking it kind of an odd one when I first played it, but stuck with it and after a while it just "clicked" and I started tearing through the game. Although, I never did finish it--it gets pretty difficult later on in the game. I need to revisit it on s...

Re: 3DO and Gex sales

It was on Saturn and PS1 as well, so yeah, 1,000,000 copies across 3 consoles seems easy enough to believe. Only issue with this is that by July 1995, the PSX hadn't been released in North America yet, and thus Gex wasn't available on it (I don't think it came to Saturn until a little bit later eit...

If you haven't played it, watch some videos online to see if it's in-line with your tastes. I personally don't care much for that kind of Euro shmup, but people who gr...
