I'm not always quick-thinking, but this may represent a new record for me: I've only just now realized that the enemy craft from this game are totally ripped off from the Recognizers in Tron.

The power supply in my FZ-1 has been dead for years. I ended up here after searching for alternative information sources when Panasonic blew off my request for advice or a circuit diagram.

The PS sequel, yes.. But the original was pretty much identical to the 3DO version and the overall framerate may be smoother, too. That's a tiny detail, but from what I could tell, both are the same, give or take some hidden stages or features that I'm not too educated about. The hidden stages are ...

In its day it was a great controller. I seem to recall that the rim around the two halves of the controller had a penchant for developing a nasty case of toe jam if not cleaned regularly, but the appearance was attractive and it was teen-proof. I'm also pretty keen on the daisy chain multi-player sy...

I have an FZ1, but the power supply looks like it's suffered a capacitor failure.

In my opinion, the PS sequel was a horrible empty shell of the 3DO original. The game mechanics were bad, the game camera was worse, the graphics and level design were dreadful, and Gex himself completely lost his charisma. I suspect the board room discussion went something like this: "Hey, remember...

Re: FZ-1 Fuse Problem

Got my hands on an FZ-1 for 30 dollars knowing there was no power. It wouldnt turn on. So I bought it and figured it was the fuse. I opened it up and sure enough the fuse was blown. So I thought simple fix.. I replaced the fuse with the proper amperage 3.15 and as soon as I plugged it in the fuse w...

I need to take care of that Quarantine one.... Not necessarily. The Youtube channel in question actually has it already. Uh... well... it was there. Honest. I'm new here, but I do have one of these. It's... a surprisingly poor effort from Logitech. I found the button action was consistently good, but the design is bulky and uncomfortable, and it lacks a daisy chain port. Oh, this was Logitech, too? Let it be known that this is NOT the Logitech controll...

I'm running WinXP. When started, FreeD0 2.1 goes to a black screen for about 3 seconds before the BSOD pops up.

I've gotten 1.7, 1.8 and 1.9 to work with an .iso, but they seem a little choppy and the sampler selection menu seems a bit broken - you can navigate, but can't actually make a selection.

Okay, running this emulator causes an immediate BSOD. That's actually sort of impressive - I haven't seen one of those since Win98. Hopefully I'll have better luck just running an .iso.

I did play a demo for this port, and the one thing that really struck me was that it played at about 3x-4x the normal speed. I admit, that's not a sign of a well-managed project when you miss that the game needs to be throttled.

Sorry for thread necromancy in such a heated thread, but it seems relevant. First, though, let me assure you that all my 3D0 software is legal physical media. I'm running FreeD0 1.7, which seems to show some promise. I've pointed it at a copy of the 3D0 FZ-10 bios. I have placed a disc in my CD driv...

A point about the quality of this game. I played it through from start to finish - on a frankenstein Tandy/286 hybrid computer. It was originally released in an era where anything 3D was pretty astounding, to the extent that the box it came in specifically boasted that the cover art was an actual sc...

If you're really good, you can open the secret sci-fi world. The levels aren't as polished, but there are some very cool ones there, as well as secret alternate credits and a dev slideshow once you beat the game 100%.

The best way to win a match in this game is to pray to Thor, Anubis, Poseidon, Quetzalcoatl and Baron Samedi in that order, then chew on your controller. Single player mode was too difficult to be fun, but it was jammed with fun cheat codes and easter eggs.

I've played through Deathkeep on all three classes. Yeah, too much time on my hands. Many of the levels are a bit unbalanced, the first being the most notable. The teleportation labyrinth later in the game, while not always mandatory, is nothing short of sadistic.
