TEKTORO - I'm sorry for what I said. You don't deserve my assumptions and judgements and I regret the names I called you.

I strongly believe that price guides do more harm than good. Even if they did benefit gamers, several years of analysis would be needed to paint any kind of accurate picture.

-I cant wait to share my guides with everyone,I'm doing a hands on approach with very little influence from other crtics. They should provide an unbiased, untainted resource for you guys and I'm sure there will be a few games I'm not keeping so they will end up being for grabs. EDIT:Oh yea so does an...

Don't worry about trying to burn at x1 or x4. Those speeds were for old drives back when the technology sucked. The slowest speed on a new drive is better than the slowest speed on an old drive. Also, burning too slow can cause the laser to bleed into the surrounding pits. BTW, where did you find 70...

Going back to the OP, I have a Flight Stick and I like it lot, but I haven't used it much. Each game seems to have a completely different calibration procedure and some of them aren't very intuitive, requiring digging through in-game menus or referencing the manual. I'm usually just too lazy to hook...

Terrible, terrible, 3DO controllers. Here are some of my run-ins (with pictures!): Fighting Sword : I thought this would be the perfect 6-button controller. It's LOOKS similar to the Hori Fighting Commander PC for the PC Engine, which is excellent. Unfortunately, the Fighting Sword sucks. The whole ...

Look for bundles on ebay too. For just a few $ more, you can usually grab a system with 10 games or so. What he said. So far, the 3DO has missed the worst of the retro craze, but we're definitely seeing some price inflation on ebay. Cheap deals can still be found, you just have to think the opposit...

I'm guessing it's a bad connection. I use a junk Y-adapter so I can connect two S-video devices to my old CRT and it turns b/w whenever I bump it. The solution? Wiggle the cable.

FZ-10. The FZ-1 is a lovely system, but I've developed a fear of old, retro consoles with moving parts.

It's crucial to say something witty when bumping, like "arise thread", or reference "necroposting" or post a jpeg of a road sign that says "bump." You know, hilarious stuff like that so you don't look like a noob and get banned.

It's only forty games, but I like this guy's reviews: http://www.retro-sanctuary.com/TOP%2040%203do%20GAMES.html Well written, knowledgeable about retro history and other ports, plays past his first impression, and his Top 40 shows good taste with some curve balls outside of the usual suspects to ke...

RF is lower quality than component because there is some bleed between the audio and video. S-video is slightly better because not only is the video handled discretely, but the color and intensity are separated. In my experience, the difference between component and s-video is noticeable (barely) wh...

On my borrowed system and limited library in the Nineties I mostly played NFS. My brother and I would compete for the longest, most extreme car crashes and replay them for each other. I just got back into the 3DO again with a FZ-10 two weeks ago and I've stuck mostly to light, pick-up-and-play games...

How can I use two 6-button controllers?

I want to play Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo with a human being. Standard controllers aren't terrible, but I'd like to use 6-button pads. Unfortunately, the ones I've seen don't have pass-through ports. Are there any 6-button pads that do have a port or were any accessories or adapters made to accomm...

Hi all, I just bought a FZ-10 and a bunch of cheap, mostly loose, games. I discovered the 3DO when I borrowed a friend's Goldstar for a few months back in '94-95. I had fun playing and almost bought my own deck when they were on clearance at Best Buy for $60 in '96 and several other times over the y...
