Cube magazine

This might be a long shot (actually, there's no "might" about it, it's a long shot!) but does anyone happen to know where I could purchase copies of the UK's Cube magazine? It was a brilliant GCN magazine and I've only been able to find these sites, albeit they're very good: http://gamesworldbodmin....

Re: Wii U

Just reading through some old threads and I'd be interested to hear what the Wii U owners are feeling these days? Still got the love? I sold mine last year but it was a tough choice. But, to be honest, even though I had a few games the only reason it was a hard decision was because of Lego City as I...

Re: If EA came out with their own console...

It's interesting reading back over the 3DO Magazines how much they raved about Electronic Arts. In this day and age they're known for next to no originality and recycling games year after year, but back then it was completely different! They were at the forefront of new gaming ideas. How times change.

Re: Introduce yourself.

Hi all, technically I'm not new but I haven't been around in an absolute age. Financial situation worsened somewhat and ended up in a lot of debt (I fell for that Wonga trap, believe it or not(!) amongst other things) so decided it was time to make the hard decisions and get myself debt free. As wel...

Yeah I've gone from thinking it'll look a bit weird and cumbersome to thinking it's going to be great! At the end of the day it's my house, I'm not sharing it, and I want my 3DO in my living room in pride of place :D Word! Use that PS3 as a 3DO stand! It's all good! If I had one that'd be all it wo...

Re: Recent 3DO Purchases

You got Starfigher in that bundle? Hell that usually cost lots of money all by itself! I don't know about PAL (is there a PAL version?), but the NTSC version of Star Fighter isn't expensive at all. Are you thinking of Star Control II, maybe, or...? This is the PAL version, which I do see online for...

"One or two others" was meant in a generic way, not as a specific number. I'll check as soon as I can (in work atm and my magazines are at home).

Games recoded for PAL

Hi all Well my first 3DO system this time around is again going to be a PAL machine. I know the first Alone in the Dark is meant to have been recoded so that it ran full-screen and at a faster rate, and the 3DO Magazine mentions one or two others. Basically, I love those big boxes and would prefer t...

Re: Wii U

I got a Wii U just before last Christmas and over the holidays tried my best with Zombie U and Nintendoland. The latter is a great wee game and shows the potential for the machine but is much more suited to multiplayer. The original Wii Sports had me playing it on my own for months but this new one ...

In brilliant condition too! There was another machine but the seller was mucking me about and so I went for this one instead. Funnily enough, that other machine ended up going for about £25 less and had less games anyway. Serves him right. All spruced up, my mate is coming round to help me rearrange...

Finally I'm back other game! £100 exactly for this little lot from The Bay Of E, think I bought it within 5 minutes of it going up after dealing with a few other unreasonable sellers. Sadly enough I'm actually sitting in work thinking how cool it'll be to lie on one end of my couch to watch TV, Blu Rays etc, then just lie on the other end to play 3DO on the other TV. Got a long weekend off next week so I'll have it set up by then! Can't wait! I'll post up what I received when I g...

You know something? I have my old CRT upstairs, I may just have to have two TVs in my living room. One for actual TV, movies etc. and one for 3DO.

Overkill? Or dedication? ;)

Oh flip no, there's no way I could afford that. It's annoying that this TV is still new (under a year) so I can hardly justify buying a new TV either unfortunately. But do these converters like I've mentioned actually work well...? Even at a much cheaper price than the £200+ one, spenidng £40 for an...

Been looking around for options as my 3DO arrived today and as feared the picture is grainy and washed out, like all SD pictures on that damned TV. Found these on eBay just now though, has anyone ever used one of these? If so, would you recommend them? Or would they give that dreaded "jaggy" picture...

Re: Best picture quality? How do you 3DO?

Yup it's quite amazing how good of a picture the 3DO puts out with S-Video! Back in the day I just used the standard composite cables, I'd say about 5 years ago I switched. What a lovely picture it now has. 36" Sanyo CRT. Hmm... does this mean my non-S:Video HD TV will actually have an inferior pic...

Re: The big questions to help me buy the best 3DO

Almost finished selling off all my C64 stuff so will hopefully by the end of this month I'll be 3DO shopping, but NTSC American models seem few and far between. May have to go PAL, but I am intending to collect all four main models so eventually the Sanyo should be good enough. Quick question: I lov...

Re: The big questions to help me buy the best 3DO

Well I'd be getting an American console so would I not need an American stepdown? Or would you recommend the Japanese converter? Yeah it's a new TV, only had it since Christmas, but annoyingly it doesn't have S:Video so I'm hoping the original three-colour lead will suffice, because with my older TV...

Re: The big questions to help me buy the best 3DO

If I end up with a PAL machine I'll eventually get a NTSC one as well. Been checking eBay and American ones seem like gold dust, but it's going to be a couple of months yet so I'll keep an eye out. What will I need then for this? Power-wise, how much are the step-down converters? And will I need any...

I agree with this too, though I do like all three, but 'A' just wins out for me, not sure why... brighter and more welcoming. That doesn't make sense. I should've just said "aye, I agree".
