Heh, I knew you guys would find the humor in this as I did. Sadly, the little wife happened upon my photoshoot of the object in mention and saw it as yet another slip down the spiraling slide to hell that is 3DO soft porn :D Actually, considering all of the "games" that have been dropped on our door...

WARP Weirdness

Ok, so I am in the process of going through my Japanese imports for the 3DO. In sorting through the imports it is quite common to come across games that have jewel cases that are thick and heavy due to a large number of inserts/manuals/mail-in cards/etc. I happened upon the game Short Warp by WARP a...

The unit in the picture I picked up new at a mom and pop store about 5 years ago. I believe I have another one boxed away that I purchased on Ebay probably two years ago.

Hello,
I can understand your desire to repair your unit. However, to tell the truth, you will be much better served by simply purchasing a functioning unit at auction or from an on-line store.

I haven't had a chance to look into the specifics of the control pads on 3DO vs. Genesis, but from what I do know they will not work interchangeably on the two machines. Additionally, you run the risk of damaging the 3DO if you try to use Genesis pads on it. The reason is that the 3DO uses a serial ...

3DOKid- Did you get a chance to play some games with the arcade stick yet? If you like the fighting games, it's a great additional to the 3DO. I love how solid it feels also.

I got the Logitech control pad in the mail today, and I think it outclasses the Panasonic pad in every way. It's more comfortable to hold, I like the smaller/clickier face buttons, the shoulder buttons are a nice improvement, and I love that the connector for additional controllers is at the end of...

The sad thing is that I already have the PC to run it in my office. I keep an old ASUS TX chipset board (P-200MMX) with DOS 6.2/WfW 3.11 for playing old DOS games native. I actually pulled a Matrox Mystique out of it a few weeks ago to downgrade to a 1Mb Cirrus board so that I could use a VESA feat...

Great pictures bitrate. In Germany: The Blaster with Joypad and Software: 800 German Mark (400 € / GBP 585 / $303) Sounds like Germany may have gotten a little bit of a break on the cost. Of course, it's all relative to when it was released in Germany. If it had released at that price in the US it ...

I tend to gravitate more toward turn-based RPG's. My favorite RPG's are Dragon Warrior 1-4. The amount of crap they stuffed into an 8-bit cart in Dragon Warrior 4 is amazing. On the 3DO I also loved Guardian War, and of course Lucienne's Quest. I haven't completed either of these, but I will as soon...

When it debuted it cost $399, which I believe was the same price as the then marked down consoles.

It was said to allow 3DO to expand into the PC market and it allowed Creative to offer an advanced gaming platform to their then extensive installed base of Creative CD-ROM drives.

I'm playing a little more now than I was before. This might just be a coincidence though as I am currently in the middle of sorting out my 3DO collection.
