Re: Running out of ideas for a 3DO homebrew...

As you can see in the homebrew section, i'm currently running out of ideas. That, and i don't know what kind of games do you really like... So i'm asking you : What games would like to see on the 3DO ? It can be a game already out or even an original idea. Post your suggestions, thoughts, non-sense...

Hey, thanks! I can't say it's a great game, but it's not without its charms. I'd be interested to see how it plays in multiplayer mode, and whether it supports 4P simultaneous.

Re: Panasonic 3do controller and the headphone jacks

I don't think it overrides the TV sound (does it?), but you should certainly hear something coming out of your headphones. I foolishly gave away both of my controllers with headphone jacks (the later, jackless gamepads have better feel IMHO), but when I had them, it was just a matter of plugging str...

Nice to see you over here, zetastrike. This place could use some fresh faces.

I know what you mean about binge-watching ewhac and gammadev's videos. I feel like I can't watch the latest one on D until I actually play the game, though -- I imagine there are spoilers galore.

Re: Recent 3DO Purchases

Didn't get any 3DO stuff for Christmas, but over the course of the past year I've picked up complete copies of Hanako-San, The Horde, Space Hulk, and The Perfect General, each for between $15-18 shipped. I'd like to start working on them sometime soon, especially The Horde, but I don't want to lose ...

Re: Why has 3DO Zone disappeared from Google?

And now we're down to four hits on Google. :( We're clearly being blocked, but why? Should we just revert to being called 3DO *Zero*... or is there something that can be done? I don't think that would help at this point. I noticed something interesting today, though -- a search on "site:3do.cdinter...

Re: Defcon 5/ I'm Back!

Bit of a necropost, but I started futzing around with this game tonight. I'm not terribly engaged so far; it seems overcomplicated and obscure, and in my experience games like that are usually very shallow affairs masquerading as deep. And the lack of an automap is irritating. That said, in fairness...

Re: Doom 3DO source code released

Its a woman who ported this it seems. May sound sexist but you don't see that much anymore. Ms. Heineman underwent a gender transition sometime last decade. When the game was programmed she was working under the name Bill Heineman, i.e. presenting as male. (I hope I've phrased that properly/respect...

Re: Why has 3DO Zone disappeared from Google?

I really think the name change is the probable culprit, but that doesn't explain why six (and only six) pages from 3do.cdinteractive.co.uk show up on Google, seemingly at random. The ones that appear for me are: Ice Breaker music The Great 3DO Game Raffle! WINNERS DRAWN Goldstar Incompatibilitys? [s...

Huh, I wonder if that's exactly it -- the name change. Maybe someone (Devin?) could check it out via Google's webmaster too...

Why has 3DO Zone disappeared from Google?

I was writing something about "Taiketsu Rumiizu" and noticed I couldn't find my review via Google. That led me to a very surprising discovery: f you search on "3DO ZONE Forums", you only get six hits from 3do.cdinteractive.co.uk. Search on "site:3do.cdinteractive.co.uk", and you get the same six hit...

Re: This is driving me nuts... (3DO Samurai Shodown port)

I think it's a mistake to focus on the "arcade-perfect" part of the story, since it's not a direct quote and I think all of us realize there are differences between the 3DO port and Neo Geo original. In other words I don't think there's a "they" who are claiming the port is arcade-perfect, unless yo...

Review - Taiketsu Rumiizu!

Since I just beat this one, I thought I'd write a short review. 3DOKid reviewed it a while back , while Hardcore Gaming 101 actually featured it as a "kusoge of the week" , though I think that's unfairly harsh. Taiketsu Rumiizu! (対決 るみーず!) is a Japanese exclusive game that, as I said to my wife, is ...

That version of nixzero's list looks to be improved over the one I have on my hard drive (which I've been editing over time for my own reference), but there are definitely still errors. Interesting: there's apparently a Windows version of Blue Chicago Blues, and that's the only other release with the English-language soundtrack (even though it's a Japan-only release if I understand correctly). So that's an option too.

I had saved a search for it on ePay and when it finally came up it sold for over $600. Out of my price range. Yeah, it's a real shame that the English-language/LaserActive version is so hard to get and so pricy. I suppose if I had a way of digitizing/transferring the contents, I could buy one, capt...

Blue Chicago Blues introduction in English

Here's a video of the introduction of J. B. Harold: Blue Chicago Blues , apparently ripped from the LaserActive laserdisc. The game was also released on the 3DO and several other platforms, but this is the sole version available in English -- all other releases are dubbed in Japanese. (That dubbing...
