Re: Anyone willing to give up worn out or broken controllers

If you keep buying them that keeps the demand up and more get produced.... for whatever reason. Experimentation or whatnot.

Give them demand they will keep the supply up.

Re: Anyone willing to give up worn out or broken controllers

These controllers made by NAKI are still in production I do believe. I don't know about this new price point one ($14) It's different than the $8 NAKI I bought a couple years ago so it might be a better build but don't feel bad about using these Dr. Frankenstein. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Controll...

I did find and save two guides for it on other systems so hopefully the general layout is the same.

Here's a link to our very own Mike Fulton's tech blog where he talks with Playstation Museum.

This is an expansion more or less of his discussion of the PSX and Jaguar and their 3D differences.

Pulled up a save game and it's raining. I'm all bandaged up for reasons I can't remember. So trying to get my bearings. What's going on. What I may have accomplished. What I haven't etc.

I hear a 'cuckoo' clock sound go off every so often that must be from my equipment.

Re: Impulse X appreciation thread.

Out of what practice I did have in this game. Only made 40k or so. My strategy is to hell with advancing through the levels. I get the 'gun' powerup and just try to stay on one level and keep shooting the enemies. They are worth 500 points each. On a sidenote my Jaguar CD player is having more and m...

Impulse X appreciation thread.

One of the last threads I made on JSII before it closed was an appreciation thread for Impulse X. And a month long appreciation window. Where those of us who bought it would try and focus some time each week to play it. I am hereby restarting that. It's September 15th. I propose from now until the e...

Re: Halloween/Holiday programming fun!

Okay then, no rules. Cool :D I stumbled upon a cool and portable implementation of Tetris. I think i can release a basic of it (using my library, gameblabla's wrapper) with no sound and then i will maybe make it haloween themed. There's a current lack of a good tetris implementation on 3DO so i'm s...

Re: Halloween/Holiday programming fun!

Damnit, i missed this post ! The problem is that, i hate rules and i suck when it comes to complying with them. ... But a Halloween-theme game might not be a bad idea. What rules? Besides the desire to celebrate Halloween with a small graphical program. Not necessarily a game. As simple as a pumpki...

Though I posted this in the Jaguar programming section I would LOVE to also see this type of thing on and for the 3do! Bring it on!

Halloween/Holiday programming fun

Back in the 80s when I was going to school and owned an Atari 800xl the computer magazines would have those programs you can type in every month in BASIC for the major PCs of the day. IBM, IBM PCjr. TRS-80, Apple. Atari, Commodore. Ti/994a etc. Well during the holidays like Halloween they would have...

When my Lynx got stolen you sent me one for free. And then you sent me a TG-16 for free.

This is your Karma T2K. It's not a blind, random universe. Get use to it. You deserve this. Congrats.

Since my headphones are not long enough I can use the 3do controllers with music CDs to have a longer headphone cord at night. Currently using it to learn the Irish language.

Quarantine? Are you sure? My Quarantine apparently can't save because there isn't enough memory but it does not pop up with a memory manager.

Re: quake Engine on the Jaguar (Scrummy posts)

I just got the DSP version of approximate sqrt() working, have tested it and I am now pretty certain that it will be accurate enough to replace the other one in most cases. The body of the calculation is 8 cycles (4 ops) but there is a 12bit normalizing shift involved afterwards and the fastest I c...

Re: quake Engine on the Jaguar (Scrummy posts)

Maybe the DSP one can be improved but 5 ops and 23bit result was as near as I got for the traditional way. Note that it operates on 23bit fractions so in/out values are shifted by 1 bit, as is typical for DSP. sqrt macro xysqr, xyroot,Txy move y:<cy_point5,b tfr b,a #<0,xyroot ; : pattern-accumulato...

Re: quake Engine on the Jaguar (Scrummy posts)

So the other thing I had been working on is an alternate way to perform square-root operations for realtime 3D. These are very expensive to perform via 882 FPU and even more so using algorithms on the CPU. Tables help but consume a lot of space to make a real difference and this is useless on a DSP...
