Re: Japanese 3DO FZ-1 overheating (I assume), discs hard to

Not sure about the heat, but the disc behavior is a sign the cd drive is going. It will probably still read original discs decently, but CD-Rs will put the machine through hell. My FZ-1 has this same exact behavior. It used to be fine but I think I killed it playing too much Star Control II on a CD...

What kind of complaint is that--the game is "too clean"? What?? That's like saying, "Man, I wish the graphics were worse!"

Re: And the Oscar goes to...

My vote goes to the backseat pilot in Sewer Shark. His acting is so over the top it makes me crack up (in a good way). That performance never gets old to me, especially with the combination of the music and sounds in his scenes.

To be fair though, I haven't played many other FMV games on the 3DO.

Japanese 3DO FZ-1 overheating (I assume), discs hard to read

I received a JP FZ-1 console a few weeks back and on the first night of hooking it up had some issues with it. I actually let it run for about an hour or two while doing stuff around the apartment and it seemed fine (I had DOOM in it). Then I went to play it, in which DOOM seemed to play fine for ab...

Re: Bad Ebay seller alert

You should be able to get your money back by filing a case. It's time consuming (Wait two weeks to be eligible to open a case; then, it takes about three weeks after that, maybe less). If that doesn't help, at least negative feedback will help put the seller in her place. There's a lot of stigma abo...

Re: Flashback

I've always held Flashback in fairly high regard. It's like a more puzzle and story oriented Prince of Persia, with guns. I'm not sure how much replay value it has though, as despite it making a big impression on me in my younger years, I never went back to complete it in more recent times. The 3DO ...

I highly doubt it. If it was available at retail, even if only in small numbers, we would known about it a long time ago.

It may very well have been me. I did a casual play/lazy review of it a few years back using the 3D control pad. I hadn't played it seriously in a while at the time though. I did so more recently and did not have any fun at all.

Re: Saturn QUAKE

I have a gripe about this version now. The A.I. is not the same. The monsters seem dumber. They seem to do things the PC version does not. Yeah, the A.I. is gimped. Wait until you realize that half your shots don't register either.. I find Saturn Quake an awesome technical showpiece on the system. ...

Re: Sega Saturn freak out.

I had a similar thing happen back in the day except it occurred with every game immediately. I called SEGA and tech support advised to unplug the system and remove the battery for a few minutes. Doing that cleared the issue. In this case though it sounds like a disc issue.

1. Flopon the Space Mutant is the first game.

2. Flopon the Space Mutant 2 is the sequel. Released in the US as Trip'd. Also on Short Warp.

3. Flopon World is a mini game compilation where its main highlight is a proto-shmup (Galaga style shooter).

3DO Zone turns up nothing, but 3DO <god-dammit-stop-auto-corrrrrrrecting-me>Zero turns up something by the fourth hit or so.

That's really cool to hear. The Jag version's animation isn't any better than any other, but it does have the benefit of having a higher color count than the Genesis/CD or SNES versions of the game. It's still a solid version. Regardless of which one you play though the game has excellent animation.

For Sega CD, gotta' play Batman Returns. Yes, it is uncommon, and you need not play the cart based platformer levels as they aren't the treasure here. Play the amazing as Hell Driving Stages. If you do, you will understand what I am talking about. I still have such a hard time believing that was do...

Not trying to be rude, but is this what the Jaguar community is down to now? Scene Demos? The Demo Scene is wildly different from what you would classify as the "normal Jaguar scene". The purpose is to do things with the hardware with a minimal amount of code. It's an experiment, essentially. You a...
