Re: Best golfing game for 3DO?

Basically my question is, what is the best Golf game for the 3DO? I want to try on of them out but was wondering which is better. If I am correct there are 3 different golf games, PGA 96, Pebble Beach and World Cup Golf. Which one would you recommend? I've only played Pebble Beach Golf Links but I ...

Nintendo looks to be finally clear of the crap they dug themselves into... in 1997. We'll see. I hear that! The prices for games and high royalties back then were atrocious! They'd basically got too cocky, something I see Apple doing now, and they paid the price. But yeah they (Nintendo) seemed to ...

I only saw The Fugitive in action, but it was five steps below VHS quality. Pixels everywhere. I'd pick LD any day. LD was notoriously expensive back then though, not sure about now, is it even still about? But that's awful about the quality compared to VHS. What was the point then? Was the idea th...

1 FZ-1 and 1 FZ-10, both bought recently off eBay. Years ago my FZ-10's joypads both broke and that was in the days before eBay so could never get a hold of more, so it ended up being binned after holding on to it for a year or so more on the off-chance. Speaking of beating the snipers, the auction ...

So in all honesty, given the fact we only had VHS back then, what was the quality like in Total Recall? Heavy action scenes and special effects are bound to have been a test for it.

I was skeptical until I watched the video press conference last night. It looks interesting, to say the least. Being able to play your game on the tablet itself is a neat idea, and using the tablet for extra viewing angles is clever, too. I'm still a little wary though. They "say" it's comfortable,...

I'm a Nintendo fan (raging my eyes won't work with the non-glasses 3D of the 3DS!) but I'm not a blind fan I have to say. Apparently the Wii U has more grunt under its bonnet than the PS3, and there's so much potential there for amazingingly involving, serious games on top of the fun Mario Karts etc...

What the console can do, games-wise and otherwise is simply staggering, but I'll have to get my hands on it to see if it's comfortable to use. My eyes can't do glasses-less 3D on the 3DS so even though it's got loads of other things going for it, its main selling point doesn't work for me, so I'll s...

Sounds like I need to add Wolfenstein to my list of potential first purchases then! I never did get around to playing it, on any format. I did get Doom with the 3DOs I bought recently... oh well, can never have enough mug coasters. I would like to see their opinions on the "best" Jaguar games, so if...

Pebble Beach Golf Links - scorecard help.

I've finally, after getting my S-Video and audio leads, been able to get down to some serious 3DO-ing on my time off work. I've become completely addicted to Pebble Beach Golf Links, a game I had back in the day, staying up to 2am last night and now playing again this afternoon. I do love it, but ob...

I think Perfect 10 is just a euphemism for 10 games thy thought were okay. I think you're right, it reeks of lazy journalism to me. They say these are the games on each system that you absolutely must own, but I know the C64 ones weren't all fantastic either. Which is why I wanted your opinions on ...

Yeah I read in the 3DO Magazine Gold edition that these were meant to be the start of a long series of games. It's still a beautifully relaxing experience even after all these years! That on its own is a great achievement!

Retro Gamer has a habit of selecting games just to be "different" and sometimes I wonder if they've played them at all! I read the 3DO Magazine review of WOTW today (3 stars/5) and the info in that RG paragraph is all in that review. Makes me wonder if RG's Perfect Ten features are all games they've...

Hmmm... no Blade Force? Apparently not and there's no mention of it in the actual article either, although there are a couple of screenshots of D2 on M2, which this says was "rumoured" to be completed. Way of the Warrior has no business being on the list, but the rest are all deserving. I'm rather ...

Retro Gamer's "Perfect Ten Games" for 3DO

Last week or so I mentioned I was going to type up the Top Ten 3DO games according to Retro Gamer magazine here in the UK. The monthly magazine is a bit pants, but their "Videogames Hardware Handbook", looking at all gaming platforms between 1977 and 1999 was excellent and includes this list. It's i...

It sounds good to me! It's always nice when they list the impedance. Yes you only need regular stereo cables for the audio. I'm guessing that "true 75-Ohm impedance" is a good thing then lol!
