3DO was weird. Think anbout Macintosh, PC, Google, PLaystation, Wii. Mac, Wii, PS are appliances, where as Google Android and the good old PC and even Linux, well these are platforms. For example: People compare the iPhone to Android, but they are very different business models. Iphone is an object...

I use the hell out of my PS3's photo album feature, mostly for... wait, meandering. The point is, it was an idea before its time that added to the final cost. I loved the idea, but it needed more storage and both feet in the digital age. I used it once and it was cool, so "new"! But you're right, i...

Personally I think there were two reasons behind this. With this "new standard" thing, we had consumer electronics companies now in charge of hardware and while this was a bold move and a very exciting one(!), it's only with hindsight that I think maybe they could've handled it better. Hindsight's a...

I remember seeing Madden 3DO on an old Equinox programme on Channel 4 and Road Rash on Gamesmaster... knocked my socks off even on TV! Never got round to playing either back then, until now... :)

A-ha! I was wondering there since I got the FZ-1 and FZ-10 the other day. I always remember the FZ-10's memory manager and was wondering why the FZ-1 (which I've never owned before) didn't have one. I'm assuming one came with it in its original box? Or rather that Sample CD maybe? I'm trying to get ...

I could complete No.1 with my 3 year old kid sitting on my lap, he loved it!! :D Daedalus Encounter was coooool man...there i...

I never actually played Showckwave or Crash'N'Burn. Shockwave in particular was on my wish list, due to being a huge War of the Worlds fan and Shockwave was most definitely inspired by it. My first wow moment (I got my 3DO the Christmas the FZ-10 came out) was Wing Commander 3 and my first interacti...

Great! We'd love to see it, and your letter! Hope I can find it! It's quite worrying that it isn't with those other magazines I mentioned. There's even a copy of #11 of Edge, where I got a 3DO-themed letter printed too. :) But I'll tear the place apart this time next week when I have my first day o...

Cheers Lemmi! :) And Austin, I've only very rarely seen them pop up (been randomly searching 3DO stuff for the best part of a year, only last week was actually able to go ahead and buy my machines) so yeah I'm sure once they do they'll sell for a huge amount too!!

Never heard of those camerman games... but I see Star Control II getting a few mentions. I remember it being on my wanted list, but being at school back then meant I had to rely on birthdays and Christmas for games and never got around to getting that game. Maybe now, finally.... :D

Capcom also had their own 6-button controller for the 3DO that was available through a mail-in program with SSFII Turbo. I've got Samurai Shodown with the machines I purchased so when I get around to trying it I'll see how the pads get on :) if not, then I may start crusing eBay again but this time...

Strange. There was a friend of mine had a FZ-10 with Street Fighter. He was a huge SF nut back then and he loved the 3DO version, never said anything about the controller being unsuitable. But then again, each to their own I guess, and they brought out arcade sticks for fighting games on 3DO anyway ...

I think I still have #15 lying about somewhere, because I made sure not to throw it out as I got my letter printed in that one. Right now all I can find is the Gold Edition though. I've found the other few magazines/comics from years ago where I got a letter or picture printed but the 3DO Magazine i...

As a teen I only ever had 2 FZ-10 controllers and was initially disappointed that they didn't have the earphone sockets, which I thought - alongside the daisy-chaining - was a brilliant addition. However, I did read at the time that there appeared to be a problem with diagonals with the original pad...

Having only just bought my 3DOs again after all these years, I'll go by what I spent the most time playing when I originally had it back as a teen, and my answer would definitely be WCIII as well. I LOVED that game! Back then it was so far ahead of its time, it just amazed me and anyone that saw it ...

Hi everyone, I'm thrilled to have found a 3DO forum! Fantastic! I originally found out about the 3DO about a year before it's release here in the UK through Edge magazine (issue 6 or 7 or something), ordered all its back issues and bought anything and everything to do with the 3DO from then on. Didn...
