In all seriousness, as far as softcore crap like this goes, it it any...Good? I'm assuming that all of these Vivid releases are pretty terrible but I still find it fascinating just how many were released for such a system.

Re: 3DO Total Eclipse vs Playstation Total Eclipse Turbo
PSX, Saturn, DOS and even in a few cases Genesis/CD/32x/SNES comaprisons are some of my favorite topics here on the site. Gex, Need for Speed, Road Rash, etc. What I'm most curious about recently is the Saturn version of Lucienne's Quest, or Sword and Sorcery as all versions are known as in Japan. I...

Re: Fright Night.
What about Fright Night 2? I heard the DVD and even the VHS are out of print and rare so fingers crossed the remake will inspire a re-release. As far as I know, Fright Night 2 is quite good and does anything but fall for the tradition of sequels (particularly in the 80's) not living up to the origin...

Re: The next generation of handheld gaming ...
... leaves me w/a bunch questions. I guess my top 2 are ... When will a new model 3DS come out that has a 2nd thumb pad built in (the Japanese add-on looks so ugly!) and ... How is Sony going to appease those of us w/a psp umd collection that we can't use on the Vita? If I were you I'd wait for the...

Re: Games that could reach 3DO's limit
For someone who isn't an expert on the 3DO's hardware such as myself, you'd really have to use the existing games and how well they run as evidence. Doom doesn't prove anything because the graphics in Killing Time are at least as good as Doom's and that game runs very, very well. The system could ha...

Some people might think topics like this are useless, but I like knowing what 3DO games are floating around. I just picked up the Japanese version of Furopon the Space Mutant, but nothing new for me besides that, I only even did it because I can't find a darned image online and it's one of the bette...

Re: Exclusive or not?
It's very tough to begin with why I purchased a 3DO, but completely exclusive games weren't quite the reason. First of all, there's games that play superior on 3DO, versions that are harder to get/not in English (Lucinne's Quest Sega Saturn, Furopon the Space Mutant PSX), games that are unique versu...

Iron Soldier. This game is awesome. Power Rally. Topdown racers, 3DO had none. Pitfall. Looks awesome. The main reason Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure would be awesome on the 3DO is because as far as I know every console port included the original Atari 2600 game. Imagine playing that on the 3DO. Here...

Re: New Remakes?
Alright - since the 3DO could also be considered as a "remake platform" (Wing Commander, Out of this world, Flashback, Return Fire), I was wondering what remakes on the 3DO would come in handy, too. I would like to vote for 2 SNES games: - Super Metroid - Shadowrun Shadowrun Shadowrun Shadowrun Sha...

I absolutely agree with you about the PS3; I just don't have the money to spare to buy one right now. The Jaguar does have nice graphics, but if I get one, I'd just like to know what aspect ratio to use for it on my HDTV. Presumably what Aspect Ratio the Jaguar supports shouldn't affect your decisi...

First of all, the genorosity can't be thanked enough. There's no reason to go out of your way to give people games besides the goodness in your heart. :) Secondly, I had some questions regarding the contest. I'm guessing I just comment to enter? If so, I guess/hope I'm in! Also is there one win, one...

Usually, I don't judge from Youtube videos. Usually, I wait until I play a game to form my own opinion. BUT NOT FOR DOUBLE DRAGON FIVE. Re: Is the jaguar the most misunderstood console?
Over-hyped? I understand there's a decent Homebrew/Forum following on the net but I usually hear the latter-two. Especially for things obscure and failures at their time of release, people are quick to be conformist to the standard opinion and leap to conclusions. They don't understand that despite ...

Re: 4DO slower than FreeDO?
Even if it was slightly slower (Which it isn't for me) it's worth it for the perfect video quality. All it lacks is 16:9 support. I've ran both emulators on a Toshiba Qosmio X775 which I bought this Christmas. Good luck to your issue...

I have a habit for over-exaggerating but is this one of the best controllers ever made or what? It's basically a Nintendo 64 controller which is nearly as versatile as the modern controllers but even better (Yes, I liked the N64 controller...) The D-Pad seems to be on par if not better than the N64'...

So, how well do other consoles from this period-like the Jaguar, PS1, and Saturn, handle 16:9?? Good question. Often, it depends on the game: On systems that support it which may be all 3, some games have the option, some don't. I found an awesome article on Racketboy that details 16:9 for the Sega...

Re: 3DO HDTV picture quality...
With my 3DO hooked up to my HDTV, I can use the 4:3 ratio, but the picture quality is not as good as it is on a CRTV. I can live with it, but would, say, buying an S-Video cable (my HDTV has an S-Video out) smooth things over? Or should I simply stick to the CRT when playing 3DO games? It's an LCD ...

Slayer has the option to look up and down, though I haven't experimented to see if it affects your aim. It seems likely that it does, since they have enemies which crawl on the ceiling and others which are very short of stature. I'll have to give it a try. Let me clarify. Games that don't give you ...

So I was thinking today, (A dangerous pastime, I know) and I'm not sure if it's a legit thing or not. Re: Playing Games Wrong
On the subject of modern first person shooters, here's something stupid I like to do. You probably know that there are two kinds of first person shooters out there: Games like Doom, Quake, and Unreal that focus on movement, circle strafing and jumping and dodging around, face to face with the enemy,...

Yeah, so I obviously need more controllers. Yeah, so anyone tried either the 3DO Fighting Sword controller or the Sidekick Controller from Tommo? The Sidekick almost looks like a six button Genesis controller with turbo buttons. Fighting Sword looks more like a SNES pad with six face buttons. Ant h...

Big thing is that everyone was mainly making FMV games. It was the new frontier along with 3D games. Not to say that there were no 2D games on the system, obviously, but I guarantee you that part of the reason the genre is so lacking is because of the name even; 3DO. 99% of the 3DO library is eithe...

First, let me clarify something. I don't mean rail shooters or behind the ship games like Total Eclipse, Novastorm, Microcosm or Sewer Shark. I mean classic, Gradius, Life Force/Salamander, R-Type, Star Soldier, Raiden, 2D horizontal or vertical shooter. http://videogamecritic.net/images/jaguar/raid...
