Re: Iron Angel of the Apocalypse: The Return

Good news. Once I got back going on the walkthrough, I finished up amazingly quickly. It's now up on GameFAQs here. Hope that it's of use to anyone who's gotten stuck in the game!

Re: Iron Angel of the Apocalypse: The Return

Thanks for the suggestion; I hadn't thought of that. Only trouble is... Are 4DO save states or save files compatible with Phoenix saves? Because if not, then I'll have to start the game over again anyway, and I don't want to do that without being certain that Phoenix doesn't have a similar glitch wi...

Re: Recent 3DO Purchases

Sewer Shark! I forgot that I've been looking to get that game for the 3DO. It's funny how you mention it being a big step up from the Sega CD version... I read a vintage review of another Sega CD-to-3DO port which concluded with something along the lines of "Now if only we can get a 3DO version of S...

Don't think there's any need for you to retake pictures, Arjak. After all, the purpose of this thread is to simply make an inventory of what's in each game. Which you've done nicely.

Re: Anyone willing to give up worn out or broken controllers

I like the ALG gun, but it would be nice to have an alternative light gun for the 3DO, if only because it feels a bit weird to be using an old west revolver with games like Demolition Man and Space Pirates!

Nice. Guardian War is really a very good RPG. It's got lots of interesting gameplay twists and the graphics are quite impressive for their time.

Re: Iron Angel of the Apocalypse: The Return

Update... At the moment I'm in the midst of replaying Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn for the Wii, but I think I'm finally feeling up to going ahead and finishing this walkthrough the hard way. I plan to get started on it once I finish Radiant Dawn. Before I do, though, has anyone got any solution for the...

I see I've been neglecting the homebrew thread for far too long, but it's great to see a project like this coming to fruition! Playing Alone in the Dark is one of the best experiences I've had with my 3DO, so the thought of being able to play this game from the same tradition in English is intriguin...

Sounds good. I had a check on GameFAQs and their listing for the game says the music was indeed by our good old friend Mr. Trieschmann. I'll have to keep an eye out for a reasonably-priced copy.

Welcome to the boards! May I ask how you managed to find this place? It still seems to be invisible to search engines. Funnily enough, my first 3DO also came with Gex and Return Fire. Can't say I've played much of either of them, though, since I already had the Saturn version of Gex (very unique and...

Been a while since there's been discussion here... I've actually been rethinking getting a Wii U. It took a while for Xenoblade Chronicles X to finally come out, and it looks like the open world Zelda may be held out for the next Nintendo console, so at this point I have to ask: With the system clos...

Captain Quazar

Still haven't completely decided whether I should get this game or not. So I idly check out some gameplay footage on YouTube, and the musical style immediately rings a bell. After about two minutes I realize why.

Burke Trieschmann did the soundtrack for this one, didn't he?

Yeah, that's exactly how I see the division of the chapters. Once you go through the stained glass you can't go back, so I see that as the end of the third chapter.

Re: Getting all the beetles in D

I haven't played the 3DO version of the game, only the Saturn version, so the following may not apply to your version. That said... I've found that the beetles' appearances seem to be timed somewhat. In a 40 minute quick run of the game, the only beetle I saw was the last one, which always appears i...

Thanks for passing on the sad word, ewhac. Like most here, I only knew Mr. Needle by his work in the field, but it nonetheless makes me feel a bit sad to know that he's gone. After all, said work had made my life a little bit happier.

its a phenomenal game. It's somewhat comical how long it took them to get the controls down. Not as long as it took me. I had forgotten until I watched the video (or maybe it was a mental block?), but the timing for when you're supposed to press the button is not at all what you expect it to be. Of...

Re: Poor Goldstar...

The Goldstar was a bit crap compared to the Panasonic anyway, never seen a Sanyo but id reckon itd be about as good as the Panasonic. I think, regardless of the quality of the Goldstar 3DO Interactive Multiplayer units, Goldstar's support of the 3DO was important. It countered the growing suspicion...

The standard Panasonic controller is pretty excellent too, unless you want to play a one-on-one fighting game.

Poor Goldstar...

I considered putting this in the "Magazine tidbits" thread, but I think this merits its own discussion topic beyond just the clipping I've posted below. I've long wondered how exactly the actual discontinuation of the 3DO worked, since it was manufactured by three different companies. Was there a bi...

I'm not going to get too far into this but that was one example that sticks out that was very blatant. No of course not basing it on one review. You assumed that. I had no choice but to assume it, since you've said absolutely nothing else to support your bizarre claim that GamePro is biased. Quite ...

Can't believe I haven't posted in this thread before. Wolfenstein 3D is one of my favorite 3DO games, and it's definitely one of the most polished releases the system got. I actually prefer the gameplay and themes over Doom. It's much more stealth-based, and really gets the blood pumping. In general...

Checked out more of the screenshots today. And the comments. Lots of Japanese games that I had never heard of, or had heard of but knew next to nothing about (I'd heard that Twinkle Nights is one of the few 3DO games which won't play on North American systems). And it's good to see The Horde and Psy...

Re: Looking for old Gex dev interview

I'll admit, the art design is something of a weak point in the otherwise amazing Gex, and this story does a fair amount to explain why. I find it funny how much the original concept for the game sounds just like Bug Too! for the Saturn. Anyway, good read. Gex is such a packed game with, as critics n...

Okay. So I know the 3DO and the Saturn render polygonal models using quadrilaterals. And I know the PlayStation renders polygonal models using triangles.

What does the Jaguar use?
