I meant that there are a couple of known collectors who have a copy. I don't know if someone dumped it so far, but I guess that will happen sooner or later.
Daft question I know. Did you use the right fuse? Sounds like it doesn't have enough power. Not possible, as a fuse is not a current limiter . A wrong fuse would either cause fire (if there's a severe damage that cause the original fuse to blow) or it will immediately blow on power up. His error de...
I've been reading through the 3DO SDK, and this is addressed at one point. Basically, what it comes down to, is that you can't write directly to the hardware because there are so many different hardware variations and configurations. There were lots of plans for more configurations with different a...
Some information about my Dev Kit I got from a former M2 developer: http://www.r3tr0.de/3DO_M2_big15.jpg I thought you wanted to leave the internet forever because of the planned "Vorratsdatenspeicherung" in Germany? ;) (sounded ridiculous enough) Was N64 really that much easier to develp for? Yes,...
#2 is to understand the disc layout. You can't just slap a binary on a CD and have the system run it. The 3DO expects a certain directory structure and file layout so that it knows what to do and what to run. It seems like this is partially documented, at least. I know the binary has to be called "...
The only thing that bothers me is when someone gets an extremely rare game or proto of an unreleased game, and refuses to dump it and share with the community. Agreed. Think about how many one-of-a-kind prototypes are out there hoarded by so-called "collectors". Those who don't care about the limit...
I wrote a little Hello World in C and compiled it for an ARM60. If I load it in FreeDO, I just get a black screen. Can't help that much with C programming, but I faced the same problem with the FZ-35s. Whatever you send to standard output isn't shown on the screen, it just stays black. Intended beh...
I've got quite a lot infos about Power Crystal, as I've interviewed one of the developers. I really should get that Games That Weren't 3DO/M2 website up...
There aren't much more other videos. Only the D2 intro (which you most likely already know) and two videos of the IMSA racing game, which are the only videos to actually show real in-game graphics. Sadly, I wasn't able to find these anywhere. They were released by Gamespot in quicktime format, but t...
The way the file loaders work is different for every version, so loaders compiled with the 4.5 sdk will not work with anything else than 4.5. And Standard doesn't support the PPC architecture. (note that all versions are "Pro". There's Pro Standard and Pro Advanced)
jwhazel wrote:I have IDA advanced pro 5. If you're interested in *ahem* knowing anything about it, just PM me.
Thanks for the offer, but I've even got a legit copy of IDA 5. However, as I already said, the M2 ELF loader will only work with IDA 4.5 Advanced (not even IDA 4.5 Standard will work).
Any chance we know the protocol or does it need to be reversed from the arcade board? I don't know yet. I focused on disassembling the code to simply disable the part of the code that waits for the signals instead, but I can't do that without a copy of IDA 4.5 Advanced (the M2 ELF loader will only ...
No, no, that's of course not all which is required to get the games working. But it's the final step to make them start. The signals correspond to the dip switch settings and are send over the controller port. In theory, 8 daisy-chained controllers should be able to produce any possible signal, unle...
Which arcade controller board are you referring to that will allow you to play arcade games on an FZ-35s? You need to provide some signals to the controller port of the FZ-35s to make the arcade games start. The easiest way to do that is to simply connect the controller pcb of the arcade unit to th...
NEXT GENERATION did a writeup on it, calling it IRONBLOOD, which included backgroundless (or minimally detailed backgrouds) characters (not just those 2 you see all over the web), and a few concept art pieces. I know, I've read that issue of NextGen. But again, all screenshots were mock-ups. The M2...
Gir Draxa wrote:[...] Iron & Blood would have rocked so hard.
I don't think so. The PlayStation version was probably the worst beat'em up ever (or maybe the 2nd worst, let's not forget Rise of the Robots ). But there was no work done on the M2 version anyway, all screens were mock-ups.
Here's another pre-rendered M2 video showing a first-person shooter: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHGdJyZpDRQ I believe this was to show what "Disruptor" was going to be. Even though the setting is completely different (but it's just a concept anyway), the weapon looks *exactly* the same as in Dis...
