Homebrew without a Mac/Mac emulator. Yes we can.

I finally figured out how to compile a 3DO program using 'Arm Software Developer Toolkit v2.50'. It will complain about the header files. The problem is they are in Mac format; which confuses the hell out of the compiler. Once they are converted to windows format, everything works fine. I created a ...

Does the 3DO devkit contain any converter for 3DO fmvs? There doesn't appear to have been any standard for fmvs on the 3DO back in the day and no converter for any of the formats has been made. http://multimedia.cx/mmentry-2006-06-25.html http://wiki.xentax.com/index.php/Wing_Commander_3_BUN http:/...

Sweet, I disappear for a long time and come back to see this! Great news! I still have my Basilisk development environment set up, so I will look at cleaning that up and sharing it as a pre-built development environment. It can nearly be done on a PC. I'm using Arm Developer Suite 1.2, and with a f...

I'm in the process of trying to get the Arm ADS 1.2/SDT 2.11a/2.50 compilers working on Windows. The ADS will compile and link the Bounce example, but can't create an aif formatted file. The SDT versions take the same command line options, so they're probably close to the 3DO version, but they choke...

Out of interest what software would be needed to write a new game for the 3DO. Do you have to use the mac toolkit software or can software be written in C++ on a PC and compiled to run on the 3DO some how. Excuse my question but I'm not a programmer just asking for a friend who is :D Ideally you ne...

It could be done with something like the Beagle board ( http://beagleboard.org/ ); which does have an ARM processor and an OpenGL ES chipset. But, how do you make it a '3DO' console? The obvious choice would be to sell some sort of 'personality module' that would turn it into a 3DO, and also allow i...

Applying this to the orbatak iso enabled it to boot to the banner screen, but it went to the 3DO logo and startup screen after that. Rehashing the encryption stuff

I'm starting to tear apart a few of the smaller 3DO games to find out what is encrypted. I haven't looked at the encryption enough to know how feasible this is, but it's sounding less-so than what I was thinking.
