Are you sure it's the switch? With mine, the tiny actuator (if that's what you want to call it) on the drive door snapped off. When the drive door is closed, this actuator presses on a switch just below the drive bay that activates the CD drive. I chopped up a plastic riser/spacer I use on my pinbal...

though there are a couple of instances where they clearly did not know how to play the game they were reviewing (e.g. Space Hulk, Lucienne's Quest). This happens frequently with these guys. Their content is high quality and for the most part the show is great, but you can tell they really reach out...

That's the problem with buying 3DO games on eBay. I mean, yeah, other systems have similar issues (like Saturn and Sega CD longbox cases being sent in envelopes), but the 3DO probably has it the worst, no thanks to the typical, flimsy cardboard box that is easily crushed.

I donno what it is about the Shuttle. I just 'needed' it :). I think with a Core II/CD2 plus that it'll be a fine collection :) Sheesh man, you must be rolling in the 'dough right now. Going by your posts at AtariAge, that's the XBOX One, 3DO (FZ-10), and the PC Engine Shuttle all in the last month...

Captain Quazar is probably one of the better games on the system, if you like isometric, run 'n gun shooters (with mission-oriented elements). Has a good sense of humor too.

Damn, for the price these cost you probably could have got a Super Grafx. You'd get all the same perks, along with Ghouls 'n Ghosts. :lol: I'd recommend a Turbo Everdrive to tinker around with the library and figure out what you want. I had the SNES one. Never really cared for it, TBH. It was a novelty that I snagged for $5 new back in the day and that was about it.

You need to be patient and wait for one to pop up on eBay as a legitimate auction, with a low starting price (no "Buy it Now" option). 3DO stuff is stupid expensive on eBay.. Well, it's a novelty, that's for sure. And it's quite playable, which is more than can be said for at least half the games on the platform.

I think someone said it uses the mouse, too? Bonus points for that I suppose.

It's a tough call, I haven't given it too much time. I did play it for the first time last year and it seemed like it was decent, not that that really helps you though.
