Interesting thread. I should give coombsb a recommendation. I bought my FZ-EM256 memory unit from him, and this was a perfect international transaction.

Of course, i heard that return on investment bullshit many times. But, they pumped massive ammounts of money into a game, just to cancel it close to the release. These return on invesment kings believe, they know everything, and ending like this: http://www.inquisitr.com/17974/mortal-kombat-maker-mi...

Exactly what i asked when Half Life for the Dreamcast was cancelled, which was nearly done.

As i said, i never got into that. At least, there are plenty of those Warhammer (40k) stuff. Hard to say, which game is really a sequale, and which is just another game within this universe.

That is a common SONY Problem. Many of the first released Playstations had those CD drive problems. The same goes for some series of the slim line Playstation 2 here in europe. I heard, that the Playstation 3 suffers from problems like this too. I can remember, that many SONY CD Players bought by fr...

Wasn't that called Space Hulk: Vengeance of the Blood Angels? Im not sure, if that's a sequel or just a kind of remake, i never got into that. It was released in 1996 for the PC, Saturn and the Playstation if i remember correctly.

Actually, i stopped playing these games on consoles. There are plenty of ports for the PC, which all do a better job, plus i have the possibility to have multiplayer through the internet with my friends. But i was always interested in the stuff these homebrew developers have done. Many of their stuf...

Way of the Warrior is a Mortal Kombat wannabe, that fails. Supreme Warrior is a FMV interactive movie-Mortal Kombat wannabe-in first person view.

heretic just plays like a doom clone. Hexen was a much much better game. It's still the same doom engine and everything but hexen had great value in the gameplay department. Well, i have to correct myself. I have indeed played Hretic and Hexen, but not on the DC. ;-) I haven't played the DC DOOM, s...

Re: New 3DO owner, what do I need?

How does the thing save? Every console have 32kB for savegames. There is a external memory from Panasonic unit with 256 kB, but a bit of rare and a bit expensive. It works on all consoles, except the 3DO Blaster, which have not the neccesary expansion port. Is there a way to edit saved files? Yes. ...

Isn't the jag version supposed to be rather good? After a quick look around I think it was made by ID Software rather ADI. Thats right, the Jag port is in fact the only console port done by id Software. The SNES port was done by Sculptured Software, 3DO by ADI, the 32X port was done by SEGA of Amer...

Okay, it's not true, i successfully tried nxDoom, even with the Modmenu, it is great. Your download is seemingly a "user friendly" version. Nobody has to use SBI or the Utopia Boot CD. ;-)

The PlayStation port of Doom is rather excellent. But I was surprised to see how the lousy 3do port compared to the Saturn one. The Saturn port doesn't fair much better in the frame rate department compared to the 3do, which really surprised me. Just another example of the Saturn architecture being...

The reason i ask is that apparently the 3DO version has extras like different levels and monsters. And a big supprise at the end of the 3DO. Probably terminal eye-strain from the frame-rate, but I live in hope. Abandon all hope. ;-) The changes made to the levels are exactly the same in all early c...

Re: The saddest list ever...unreleased 3do games.

Apparently, you didn't collect that hard, as that information is from the original design document, which is available for ages. ;) Oh well, you mean the Doom Bilbe by Tom Hall. At least that was written before any bit of code was written, and many of this stuff was dropped before the real developm...

Re: The saddest list ever...unreleased 3do games.

Even the original PC release was to have cutscenes, but they were dropped at some point. I highly doubt that. I never heard of any plans for that, and i collect any little bit of information about Doom since ages. Seeing how bad the 3DO version is, I don't think some FMVs would have saved the game ...

the one the arrow is pointing to is the worst pad ever. Right. This is the one, delivered together with the 3DO Blaster. It has no headphone jack, and it misses the interface for the second Pad. The shoulder buttons are exactly the same kind, as all other buttons. The good is, the Pad lies better i...

Re: The saddest list ever...unreleased 3do games.

Rayman|Ubi Soft Nice game. Thunderhawk|Core Design Great game on SEGA CD, but i guess, they would do nothing more than add the FMV Stuff in higher resolutions. Death Mask|Pixus/Electric If this is the same game, released for the Amiga and Amiga CD32, it is not a shame it was never released. This ga...

Hi there

I'm new to this board and want to say hi to everyone. I'm lucky to see that there are more guys in the world who share the passion with the good old 3DO. I have parts of my 3DO hardware online, you can see them here: http://www.blood-is-red.de/wiki/wikka.php?wakka=System3DO It misses the FZ-EM256 me...
