My first controller was the Goldstar but I have always preferred the original FZ1 - I had a 3DO Zone pad at the time and remember hating it. Tried the logitech recently - didn't like it and my hands are too big for the FZ-10 controller. Use the IR "stealth" branded ones a lot when playing games that...

My two sanyos give me as much trouble as my goldstars for precisely that reason. BEFORE you touch the mainboard replace the ribbon cable between the drive and its sub board. This sub board is the usual root of all problems including the one you mentioned. The sub boards are on the cd drive caddy and...

US and Australian Goldstar differences

After reading with interest Bitrate's Sanyo comparison I thought I'd mention some between the US and Australian model Goldstars. The Australian model was modified from the Hong Kong release and generally has later build dates than the US ones I've come across - the earliest Australian one that I hav...

I sold tv’s for 5 years and would often have a 3do handy to see what would work - after testing on dozens of screens from different manufacturers the best I saw was an early 32 inch hisense plasma in 4:3 mode with a native 640 x 480

I do find it amusing though that a battle hardened soldier can bear to sing such tripe - obviously pays better than being shot at in the the service of Her Majesty the Queen.

Best thing EA did was handing it over to criterion. Once again in an interview they unashamedly referred specifically to the 3DO version as their inspiration. It was nice hearing the name 3DO mentioned on Australian TV again :) and on a side note Trip has been immortalised in Civ V with an historica...

My Killing Time themed 3DO

Thought I'd do some experimenting with timber and take into account both the Killing time and the FZ-1's art deco theme.
