Yep, this has been posted in the other thread already. The most recent footage I've uploaded is this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMa0DHtf0Sw Not as stunning as the Mardi Gras video, but in that video you can see the menus, car configuration, etc. And you can see how badly I'm driving. Good to ha...

Taken from an old forum post by Gir Draxa somewhere: This works; however, you shouldn't do this with a .bin file, as that will trigger ECC errors, which can make the game stop loading or loading much slower. You should convert the .bin to .iso first (that is, from 2352 bytes/sector to 2048 bytes/se...

Be sure not to miss the two videos from the near-final version of IMSA Racing. The ones you linked to are from an Alpha version which was already impressive but nowhere near the final version. Especially the Mardi Gras race track looks gorgeous.

I thought there's only one standard for VCD. Later it was upgraded to SVCD though it's different format. No, there were various versions of the VideoCD standard. Most important are VideoCD 1.1 and VideoCD 2.0. The VCD adapter for the FZ-1 does not support VideoCD 2.0, nor does the first model of th...

Something to do with the controllers being wireless maybe? But what about the PS2, Xbox or even PS1? Why didn't they have this feature? For a wired controller, two additional wires are required for audio. Not that much of a problem, so dunno why older consoles didn't have it. But it was even abando...

I think it's because they rather like to put all the money for R&D in copy protection schemes instead of using it for something more reasonable.

Although heat is an issue it doesn't explain why a 3do's cd drive will outlast most music CD drives. This can be explained, too. If you really mean "music CD drives": keep in mind that they are constantly working as long as music plays. If you play 2 hours of music, then the drive is working consta...

3DO systems are very durable. Cheap example: FZ-1 and FZ-10...no problems whatsoever. (Made in the 90s) Xbox360...died within 2 years. (Made a few years ago) Yep, they just don't make them like they used to. So you compare the lifetime of a, by today's standards, very simple console running at 12.5...

Wasn't that just the service manual? It tells you how to take apart the system and may contain one or two circuit diagrams.

[...] They promised to build a huge website for the 3DO scene at http://www.3do-scene.com, which is "Comming soon..." since then. This list could be extended further. Sometimes (but really only sometimes ;-)) I hate when I'm right. http://www.3do-scene.com is now suspended and the news advertising ...

Funny that almost a year have passed and no one replied on this. :D DOOM runs in 32-bit protected mode, so you certainly haven't played it on a 286 machine. It simply doesn't run on anything be...

That's a burnatonce bug. It can't handle long filenames. Simply use a different program to burn the disc.

I would say 'nice' as well, but a bit too much yellowing on the cd drive for me (wonder if it still works), and the box is quite sun-faded.

On the other hand, I never understood all the excitement for the 3DO Blaster anyway.

Don't worry, I'm pretty sure that is intended anyway. I guess they don't want any new people to read the forums. Why? Because I doubt the open-source release will ever happen. They promised to release a homebrew SDK years ago, which never happened. They promised to release ports of FreeDO for other ...

Yeah, that site is well-known for their unqualified reviews, especially among the CD-i community. People who aren't open-minded or don't like retro games shouldn't do reviews at all.
