I'm slowly going through these monster manor vids. I love them! I'm on part 7. Or level 7. Fascinating about how they took the PSX version of NFS and dumbed it down to make it a different game. Does this also apply for the PC version? I can see now why the 3do version is considered a better game. Th...

My complaint about the controller I have which is 3rd party generic s that the corners are too square. IMO they should be more rounded and smooth to make it easier to do rolling motions like back, down, then forward etc. :) Is that you Jagchris? If so, send me a PM, I have a great place for you to ...

BattleTank on n64 is a long standing favorite with my friends and I. We use to play that for hours. I just bought it for my friend for his birthday about a year ago and he loves the hell out of it.

http://i362.photobucket.com/albums/oo61/Achille-Pomeroy/SpockWin.jpg FZ-1. Even though it doesn't have a built-in memory manager, it looks the best of all the 3DOs and has a drive tray instead of being an ugly (and inconvenient if it's in a shelf) top-loader. 8) EDIT: The FZ-1 does have a memory ma...

I really love the Haunted Manor video blog. Very interesting! Especially how maps are built using a linked list type of setup and how the 3do can do this for free with its GPU and the PSX gets bogged down by this sort of thing. Fascinating these differences of these older systems. There are probably...

I think the arcades played a large part. You would go and see some amazing arcade machine like Starblade, Ridge Racer, Metal Slug, Street Fighter II, even Missile Command, Pacman and Galaga, and they were quite literally the most amazing thing you had ever seen. I remember standing there watching t...

Thank you for the input Grimm! However I really hate the idea of throwing hardware away that may make things harder to come by later for others. I would much rather be able to fix what I have or have it fixed if its reasonably possible. This is why I strongly feel that a sticky covering these points...

Mark from CGR is the only one ive ever heard on youtube who talks about "if you can find a working one". Dont worry chris, it holds up better than a ps does, for sure. And its older. Thats cool. The Jag CD player has the same bad rep. However it seems the parts to the 3do are harder to come by. Whi...

Re: Let's Play - Monster Manor

Let's Play - Monster Manor (3DO, 1993) - Levels 1-2 I guess this is the appropriate forum for these, so here's the first episode of our latest effort: Escape from Monster Manor . Since the game is too long to creatively edit down to even a gargantuan two hours, we're doing this one in episodic form...

I have a lot of things to say on this, but not really in the mood so ill keep it to just one major thing.. Back then you had different games for different consoles. Few of them were multi-format games.. Today its the other way around. That, i think is the major reason why gaming seem less exciting ...

Well written review indeed! And I gotta get this! I love dinosaurs and I love Jurassic Park! I dont care how bad it is. I remember drooling over the pics back in the day. Was the Raptor part scary like AvP on the Jag? I've never been that scared in a game before or since. One JP game I did not like ...

Gaming scene today vs yesterday

Does anybody else think that the gaming scene isn't as exciting as it use to be in the late 80s early/mid 90s? I can't describe why but it seems back in the 90s with the new formats coming out like CDrom and 3D the industry was taking chances with new formats and gameplay and it was more exciting IM...

Re: Creative CD-ROM CR-563B

Now what is the procedure to use the parts from this CD-Rom drive to repair a broken 3do? Maybe it should be made a sticky? Or maybe you should go read some threads in the Technical Support forum. Well I did that before posting actually. And I found the quote I used in this thread. However whats in...

Creative CD-ROM CR-563B

Here is what I found browsing around here. Your problem is no doubt one of two things. Either the drive motor has failed (or shorted), or, the gears have cracked and are not functioning properly. From what I have read on these forums, cracked gears are a common occurence with the FZ-10. So, what are...

Whats the story with the 3DO homebrew?

OK can you guys give me a brief overview of the 3DO homebrew scene? I think I heard that Mr Hawkins ignores the 3do now and wont even release the encryption so you guys have to hop through hoops like the Jag community did a few years ago to run homebrew? Are the SDKs themselves homebrews or are they...
