Re: SainT is overwhelmed!
Tried to tell him that the market for the Jaguar was bigger than 150 units like everyone else was telling him.and basing their number on how well games like Impulse X sold. I love Impulse X and bought it to support Mattias but a lot of people just weren't excited about a Arkanoid clone. The only kill...

Good work.
Are you just tweaking the engine or do you plan on rebuilding it for speed?

A moment with Aaron Fothergill -Zoop, Magic Carpet
Aaron Fothergill was the audio engine man for Electric Spectacle.(Zoop) They were also contracted by Virgin to convert Demolition Man and by Atari to convert Magic Carpet. to the Jaguar. I had a quick brain pick with him about Atari support, Electric Spectacle, Magic Carpet and Demolition man. I onl...

Re: 3DO Ultimate Mortal Kombat III ... well, sort of...
Both 3do and Atari couldn't get the assets for this game they contracted with the company for yet apparently Sony and Nintendo had no problem.
Hmmm... Does this make anyone else wonder if Sony's deep pockets were at work here?

How about a poke around at the 3do/PC/PSX Mortal Kombat assets/sources and seeing what can be salvaged.

I am curious as to the contents of the ISO. How would I go about extracting the contents since if it is a MAC disc, daemon tools can't really work with the ISO. At least I assume it is a mac ISO, since it is not a 3DO ISO since uncdrom cannot find any sectors to extract: Your wish is my command ! I...

This sold for $65? Anyone know who has it? Supposedly someone named bitrate on assembler had it.
Surprised there is not more discussion on here regarding this.

Re: quake Engine on the Jaguar (Scrummy posts)
A procedural DML found that might translate well to Jag/32x and other systems without any VRAM. I have found that by interfering with the lighting system and modulating the lightmap while it is being built, it's possible to add some interesting effects to the scenery. The case I was experimenting wi...

Can we get the upload quota increased in these forums? Is there a reason it's got such a low cap?

Adisak Adisak Adisak
id wrote their own sound code so they could run tasks in the DSP. The Atari sound code fairly well takes over the DSP. Plus the Atari sound codes is a major drain on memory bandwidth. The music/sound driver I wrote for WMCJ and will use in NBAJ-TE uses 4:1 ADPCM compression and is over 30 times more...

The game is looking really good right now. I have optimized and optimized the game everywhere and right now it runs at about 15 fps at a resolution of 320x220. However, this could be faster if I didn't need to unpack all the character animations on the fly but since there are 12-15 Megabytes of spri...

Adisak tidbits from around the net.
Originally, I had to use Atari's music code (even though I had my own code). Atari's music code caused all sorts of bandwidth problems which involved major bandwidth hogging (two reads per cycle per channel regardless of the sample rate). In order to allow the DSP to access the bus during display, I...
