Yes the DC controller was one of the best, but they could have just taken the SS "Model 2" controller, stuck a thumb pad where the D-pad is, and called it a day.

Shockwave Assault was released on the Mac. Is it the same as the Pippin version?

Chris Conway of EA talks about porting it here. He also talks about what happened to the ports of Shockwave 2. (They were cancelled.) The Mac version was eventually released.

The Harmony Engineering website mentions Dinonauts, an educational game that was released for Mac and Windows. I'm assuming it has nothing to do with Virgin's Dinoblaze or Panasonic's Theo the Dinosaur.

I think the 3DO could have limped along if the PlayStation hadn't steamrolled everybody right away. Wasn't it brought up here that 3DO sales (in the US, anyway) picked up in that period between the Saturn's surprise launch and the launch of the PlayStation?

Crap! The 3DO has a battery? That's the one thing I don't like about the Saturn (especially since my Saturn seems to be malfunctioning in that regard - always forgetting the time and other settings), but at least there it's easily replaceable.

Yeah, that was pretty much DOA, and the 3DO got caught up in the hype. It settled down into a games machine, but marketing it as a multimedia device at first probably didn't help anything. And that whole "this is a multimedia machine, not a game console" thing is at least partly why the FZ-1 was or...
