I must admit I don't see the allure of the M2 stuff, I much prefer the 3DO 1 stuff like dev kit and protos. Nice joypad though :P

It's damn sexy.

For some reason I really, REALLY want one of these things. This is despite the fact that I know I will be able to do absolutely nothing with it.

Well, you can do a little bit with it. :)

Who knows, maybe even more down the road ...

So an M2 complete with final production controller, software and logo is worth about $2,680 (US).

Well, at least on Yahoo Japan it seems to be. On Ebay, I have a feeling it would do better.

In my opinion, this is the most significant M2 hardware to ever show up. It has what appears to be a final (or close to final) version of the control pad that I have only ever seen very small pictures of in gaming magazines of the mid 1990's.
There is the relatively new picture floating around of the bone colored M2 pad of the same design, but it is only a picture. This is the first time that a legitimate pad has surfaced as far as I am aware (not including the very early back third-party-shell pads).
On top of that, it has some version of the console with a logo on it that I have never seen before.

No, if it were on ebay someone would post it with a $4,000 price tag and it would never get sold.

For $4000 it would still be grabbed.

You can doubt it all you like. I know it would have been grabbed because I would have been the one grabbing it.
