Panasonic M2 Game console

Post by bitrate » Sat Sep 10, 2011 4:32 am

Here is the M2 gaming console shown off by Panasonic at various gaming shows of the mid 1990's.

Here is some software running on the console. This software came with the unit and control pad. I got extremely lucky on this lot.

Some of these demos were photographed and shown in various gaming magazines of the time.

I'll try to get some images of the other demo's as time permits.

Here is the BIOS screen.

This is the real M2 logo! Like the Nuon. Nice!

Must bei 3.1, right bitrate? I could not run the apebot mech and M2 racer
on my M2 dev kit and 3.0 SDK, although a certain M2 developer tried
to help me. To see the apebot in motion was his dream, maybe you know
him, an make his wish come true. Then, we all want to see the M2 Racer
in Motion. apebot bsf / utf - I could not start it. Shame! Is it the same?
I think so.
Most beautiful console, along with the FZ-1. The temple of vision.

I think so.

It is version 3.11.

Hmm... there are a couple of guys that it could be, but I'm not sure. I'll see about getting some video of Apebot and M2 Racer up. It might take me a day or so (I always say this, and it always takes longer lol).
Is this person a member on the forum?

Yes, Apebot should be the same.

No problem.

The next M2 video is up. This video showcases the dolphin introduction that was pictured in all kinds of video gaming magazines of the mid 1990's.
Here is the video link followed by some magazine scans from the time:

Sadly almost all M2 owners do not share anything, they just want attention. That's why there is almost nothing out there in the wild.

I've never been able to join ASSEMblergames. I never get a e-mail to confirm my address.

Look at at all the courting replies there.
one reason why I've turned my back to this club long time ago.
I have always understood knowledge as something that is shared.
And not what something you have to beg for. This is not civil society.
Many behave as if it was THEM who have created things that they show.
Don't get me started. I like this 3DO Forum and its special atmosphere.

I ran into something similar to this a few years ago. A guy had a copy of a thought-to-be-lost album of a band I'm a fan of. He just sort of lorded it over us. Even went so far as to do a cover of one of the songs on it, saying it sounded pretty close to the real thing. So we'd "get an idea." Eventually another copy surfaced and his claim to fame was gone. What a total twit.

What the hell..? Who are you and what gives you the rights to claim such shit? Are you aware that the account you are referring to has been registered 3 years ago? Sure, it's my "new" account and I only waited three years to post that on assembler. What is wrong with you?

Some people apparently still can't accept that I left the 3do m2 scene 4 years ago without releasing my collection. But let me make a clear statement here: Whoever that f*cking guy on assember is, he's lying. I have NOT released my 3do m2 collection, nor have I any intentions to do so. I've stopped caring about that stuff long ago, and most of the things I own(ed) are already available thanks to other people anyway.

It would be nice if people would finally get over their jealousy and stop dragging my name through the mire.
