About 7 times as powerful as the PS1 and about 3 times as powerful as N64. No way for it to compete with the DC, however.

amazing work Bitrate - thats the Ecco type game I'd reported as seeing screen shots to some time ago.Truly incredible that you actually have a playable Demo!I never thought I'd see it running.
Thanks for sharing!
Ever seen the 3do ex employees page on Facebook?
Some cool shots of the original M2 dev team and of Trip playing Return Fire in the office.
Wait........ is that Bitrate in the background talking to WK?

Now does anyone rember the VR type sphere unit that you actually climbed into and played Bladeforce on?
I saw photos of it in a mag at the time - it looked like a pretty funky peripheral . It was especially made as a one off for a trade show to demonstrate 3DO,s abilities
Oh thats right Bitrate has 5 of them in his attic

I also remember seeing screenshots of that cool looking gizmo. It was on display at the 95 E3 show. If Bitrate actually owned one I think I'd pass out on my keyboard ...

I made the video private while I upload a new version with a large watermark embedded.
The new video will be back up tonight and I will edit my first post on the subject with the new url as YouTube does not allow updating.

It's just a crying shame he has to do it.

Another piece of software running on the FZ-21S1.
Not too much to see here, but it is a piece of running software.

Actually, that's just a .sdf file started with the viewer. From the .sdf files I have, I could create hundreds of such "demos". :D

Early 1997 at the latest. At the event you're refering to, they were no longer prototypes.

Ultra 64 / Nintendo 64 controller was revealed in 1995, IIRC.

That M2 controller, I remember first seeing it in Intelligent Gamer Fusion magazine in 1996.

I wonder how many people on the forum actually own any M2 hardware? I know I, sadly, do not yet. I'm curious ... maybe I should put up a poll ... ?

We had several of these in-house, back when I was at Virgin. The 3-D-O people had come down to visit and pitch to us the concept of doing a break-through title for it. "Something as cool and innovative as SEGA Genesis Aladdin title."

The biggest issue we had it with though, was that we were supposed to develop the game within a 7 Month time-frame and we wouldn't even get the hardward until 3-3.5 Months into development.

We passed on it as most publishers and developers did. The 3-D-O was never really anything all that special. When it came out, it was WAAAAAY over-priced.

The M2 was also known as their "Bulldog" platform. :-/

- Ken
This was an interesting "snippet" posted very recently on Atariage - I wonder how many developers passed due to the delay?

The 3DO's operating system had it's pros & cons ... but the latter seem to be the main voiced.

Yes I hope Pitsunami is o.k., because he sold everything. I remember how long it took him to get finally a full M2 dev kit. I hope it's in good hands now:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/PANASONIC-3DO- ... IYhXhsrqyo

he sold his FZ35 also:

and his 55

Iron & Blood for 3DO M2 uses a 3D cave model for the fighting arena that is part of the 3DO M2 SDK:

As 3D model: Cave:

As arena: Game:

Another hoarder here, sadly.
