How many 'good' games for jag do you reckon there are?

I mean the good ol' 3DO had about 270 games in total, I reckon 50 are playable, about 30 are actually good and about 10 are brilliant.

I always felt this sort of dwarfed the Atari Jaguar...

But I'm happy to be proved wrong.
There was a message on Atariage that addressed this recently...
http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.ph ... pic=146527

Which reminded us of a survey done on this amongst Jaguar gamers...
http://www.ataritimes.com/rankings.php?System=Jaguar

I've taken that list, made some suggested adjustments, and added some Jaguar scene created games. When I categorize something as "Good" did I have fun? Did it take effort to have fun? Well, if took effort, that would be playable. Ect.

And there are a few games left off this list (Seaplane by Orion, the Tiny Toons alpha which really didn't do squat. I only left Varunas Forces up there since it was mentioned in the Ataritimes survey, but honestly, was that even playable?) I think the masses have spoken on this one, but I think the above shows the ratio of the games and the categories you were curious of (those categories I roughly placed). Not an exact science above, but I believe to be really close.

Yeh the list was made before Mad Bodies came out. I would put it around #25 on the list above.

Why is the VLM included in the list? :?

Didn't say the list was exact science. And strangely, when people voted for cool things on the Jaguar, that was one of the things voted for.

And honestly, when my Jaguar goes through times of non-play, it was a great VLM CD player. For what the VLM is all about, it is excellent, it accomplished its mission well.

Oh I agree, the VLM is cool to be sure. 8)

Soccer Kid should be higher on the list, unless it differs much from it's 3DO counterpart.

The list above was polled only last year, and for the most part I think it accurately shows the brilliant, good, and playable.

Space Ace is not playable. :P

I went ahead and bumped Soccer Kid up a bit, added a bunch of games that were not on there before, and renumbered.

Doc, I'm surprised you didn't bump Bubsy up to the top.

Heheh thank you for noticing. Bubsy is on the top of MY persinal list. I tried to be considerate when I made this list however. What was brilliant, what was good, what was playable. Bubsy is good after a bit of a learning curve. Based on what a lot people say on the Bubster, I figured just below "good" or in other words not quite good but almost there seemed to be the fair consensus.

And Checkered Flag would normally be in the "unplayable" list along with Space Ace and all the rest, but some have attested to being able to play Checkered Flag with some practice, so I put Checkered Flag at the very bottom of "Playable". :)

What's good now?

The list I gave above was only made in the last two years, so I would say amongst Jaguar fans, the games listed as "Good" are good now.

The list above also takes things in mind, like the fact that this is this Jaguar we are talking about, so we are not comparing this to something you would find on the X-Box 360 or Wii.

What games are fun, work with the Jaguar as a platform well, etc. That is what is "good" according the list and in my book.
