Tempest 2000 made GI's top 200 games of all time.

It does float! And doesn't get soggy in milk! :)

A good game no doubt, but top 200?

I like it too. Emphasis on the word 'like'. It's very pretty and very playable. I think it would probably make it into my top 200 games too. Probably about the same place.

It's a fun game, but honestly, the GI list was shit.

The GI list was downright bad.. Although if I had to make a personal list, I would stick T2K in a top 100. Something has to be said about a game that still provides one of the greatest gaming adrenaline rushes there is, and I like adrenaline rushes. :D

Definitely a top 100 game in my opinion. It was really the first "retro update" that took an older game and really brought it up-to-date properly, probably because Minter knows a thing or two about the era and used the Jaguar's strengths to his advantage (particularly the smooth-shaded polygons that fit Tempest to a 'T" and the MOD-based techno music). I honestly can't think of any other retro update that touches T2K.
