Project Owl

It does float! And doesn't get soggy in milk! :)

The texture quality when they go indoors truly impressed me!

Yup, been keeping my eyes on this project for quite some time. Looks like Atari owl is doing an amazing job with what the Jaguar can do. It will be interesing to see where this goes once released as this could be the Jaguar game the community has been waiting for.

Action RPGs are one of my favorite genres and Jaguar one of my favorite consoles :D, so it is a match made in heaven for someone like me. When he was navigating outdoors what graphical technique was that for the terrain? Voxel?

Hi Doskias and t2k

Thank you very much for the kind words.

Yes its a multicoloured voxel (or at least a height mapping variant of voxel in that i'm using only one layer) engine with polys for the character and objects.

I'm considering allowing sprites for some objects (as in Phase Zero) instead of true polys as it should speed things up a bit.

So uh, I have to ask, how long before we can play this thing? Just fishing and hoping for an answer at this point . . .

Hi everyone

Once again thank you very much for the kind words and encouragement.

We are working on it - but one learns very quickly on the Jaguar community not to make promises - so i don't know when this will be done. Please remember that although i have very good people helping me with content i'm coding it alone (and fitting racing in too) and that we have bitten off a very comlicated and difficult type of project.

If you're interested though i'll keep you updated.

Yeah. It never ceases to amaze me the sort of anger thrown around in the Freedo forums too. ADMIN PROMISED THIS, NOW I'M SAD BECAUSE HE WAS 2 DAYS LATE! HATE YOU ADMIN. Or indeed worse.

We're much more forgiving :)

Why 3rd person? Are there plans to make it 1st person? You could concentrate more on the game. It's outstanding. We want to play it, we want to expore.

Yeah Kid, can you imagine if it were like that here. I forget to do things for a week so much I'd have my head bit off.

Sorry for the late reply

As usual life gets in the way - this time sending me out of the country for work.

THank you again for the kind words.

Why 3rd person.
I just don't like first person and neither do most of the team.

When you finish it, I'm in for a copy (as long as its not on CD, since I don't own a Jag CD)

I'm up for a CD. Plus I like 3rd person over 1st person. :D
