It does float! And doesn't get soggy in milk! :)

New to Atari Jaguar

Post by RetroGamingBlog » Sun Nov 23, 2014 4:17 pm

Hi all,

Looking to start an AJ collection. Never owned the console, but Syndicate looks superb. Any recommendations and ideas what kind of price I should be paying for hardware and software.

Here is where you want to go to buy Jaguar stuffs.

I need to get syndicate myself. It looks fun and amazingly I have never owned it.

Recommended Carts:

Doom
Alien vs Predator
Iron Soldier
Tempest 2k
Rayman

That's a quick list.
What came after the Jaguar was the PS1 which for all it's greatness, ushered in corporate development and with it the bleached, repetitive, bland titles which for the most part we're still playing today. - David Wightman

Wolfenstein is also superb on the jaguar. Rayman is worth getting too if can find it for reasonable price. Wolfy is not too hard to find and to me, is a classic. Love the colours and large sprites and music on the jag. After a japanese version for the 3do never seen one but one day I'll get it hopefully. Other games I have enjoyed on it are power drive rally and yes avp and doom are both superb. Doom is my favourite game on it so far. Just feels right to play. AVP can go for a lot but can find cart only for ok money and is worth getting. The three fps games on it are all worth a play 8)
