I was browsing the news.com.au website the other day when I noticed they had a gallery of the top ten gaming fails.
No surprises both the 3DO and Jaguar are in there
Jaguar is no.4 and 3DO no.10
Damn you Rupert Murdoch!

Clearly, clearly, written by the type male-chicken that makes my blood boil.
" Virtual fail ... Atari released the Jaguar to compete with the Sega Mega Drive.
It was promoted as the world's first 64-bit gaming system, but it didn't take off and forced Atari to leave the console market.
The Jaguar did however secure a legion of fans during its prime because it let users create their own games / Wikipedia "
Was the Jag competing with MegaDrive? Could you make games for it during it's prime? Methinks not.

The author points out the 3do had no copy protection...
I wonder why??!!
Reminds me of Back to the Future:

I'm confident the author does not remember 1994 well.

It's not so much the age that bothers me. It's the attention span, and the reading ability that bothers me.

To be fair it was first released in '93, when the MD was the number one console, so they were competitors.

You have a point, but I don't consider the 3DO in competition with the either MD or Snes. The publics money on those consoles had been spent, and 3DO was fighting CD32 and Jaguar. Not Snes and MD. Most (informed) commentators don't see a previous generation of console competing with the current.
The PS2 still sells well, but other than forum rants, you don't see people comparing PS2 and 360 sales.
