PO'ed is pretty good.

Post by 3DOKid » Thu Mar 05, 2009 11:00 pm

I've been playing this now for a while, and I've come to the conclusion it's actually pretty good. It looks and plays better than Doom. I'm enjoying it more than I enjoyed Killing Time and while it's qwirky and not as cyperpunk as Tetsujin 2, I believe it's the better game.

Anyone else enjoy it?

This is a classic hidden in plain view i reckon.

It reminds me of an early version of Metroid Prime in many ways actually w/it's since of scale/direction, and platforming like elements. Also, like MP, it find it easy to get lost. Unlike MP though, it is not brilliant. Also, taxing to the 3DO hardware

A game I haven't devoted enough time too actually ... maybe I'll re-visit.

Surprised you are enjoying it better than Killing Time & Iron Angel 3DOKid ... I know how highly you view them. How far along are you (I've never gotten past the 3rd or 4th level I think)

There's a lot of features in PO'ed that were quite advanced for the time ie the ability to look up and down, the jetpack, the ability to jump etc. As far as I know it pre-dated Duke Nukem 3D on the PC which had these features but I could be wrong.

I know the first time I played it in the mid-nineties I couldn't stop playing! I bought it a few months ago off ebay and still enjoy it.

So yes, definitely a 3DO game worth having.
