I noticed that the 2nd 3DO I just got has a different style top on it (the part that has "Panasonic" engraved on it.
My original FZ-1 had a dark, glossy metallic looking case top, I thought they were all like that. But after looking at others for sale, and the one I just got, these are all different.
These have more of an artificial marble/stone look, and its dull with no gloss.
Did they create different cases depending on the year?

Glossy is the reduced $500 model versus the original $700 chipset. Another thing to look at is booting up when it shows you to put in a CD, some have a silver disc (original) and the later ones have the colored discs. However some of the $700 may have the colored disc as well. And yeah there was a post with pics of the front, top and all that stuff.
