3DO Modifications

Post by bitrate » Mon May 18, 2009 2:05 am

I'm almost finished with the first two projects I tasked myself with completing before the midpoint of the year. :D

- Integrated DAC-based RGB decode (different than existing solutions)
- SPDIF digital audio over Coax

When finished, I will provide all information regarding the modifications for anyone interested. Due to minimum order parts purchases, I have a good size stock of the "important" parts that I can provide as well.

For those interested, these modifications can be performed on all models of 3DO. Of course, due to part differences over the lifetime of the console and various models of 3DO, the steps required to perform the mods will vary accordingly.

Here are a couple pics of my 3DO workhorse:

It looks like a 3DO on life support after being stamped on by the sega saturn and playstation.... but of course it's not! It's another piece of interesting hackery :D
