It was certainly an interesting day! spent 4 hours with the film crew in my rumpus room. They were quite a professional bunch and put me at ease having a discussion about my collection whlst sitting on the floor amongst it.
I gave the 3DO some love with some footage of me playing need for speed (deliberatly badly) and mentioning it as my favourite. Also gave the CD32 some love and the CD-i was represented with Hotel Mario playing on my tv in the background. Also played some 2600 and Vectrex!

Hopefully I've done us all proud lol without being too hokey.

The producer told me that as it was basically the first story in the can for the year it will run pretty early. First episode airs here on Feb 15.

The show's link is abc.net.au/goodgame

Unfortunately it doesn't usually support non Australian servers but there are usually eps on youtube.

Definitely an interesting experience

got a couple of spare minutes - so here is a little more about what happened:

I was asked about the importance of preserving consoles
what motivates me to collect
how it all started
what my favourite is (3DO of course!)
why I have been encouraged to write a book on consoles - yes the cat is officially out of the bag on that one!

Each question was asked 4 times with 2 takes from 2 different camera angles - a long process

I was asked to play a couple of games NFS on the 3DO , Hyperchase on the Vectrex and Empire Strikes Back on the 2600 - unfortunately to get the shots "right" I was filmed at right angles to the screen (which meant scrappy game play) and told to "crash the car a couple of times" on NFS to make it look more interesting lol

having said all that they were a very professional team and allayed any fears I had of just being "a crazy collector story"

I have also entered an agreement with them that my collection is at their disposal for future filming and I will actually get a credit in the titles whenever this happens!

It was a very casual interview with me basically sitting on the floor surrounded by most of my gear.

I hope I dont come off as too much of a lunatic (difficult for me I know lol) and do you all proud.

On a seperate note my FZ-1 shell is ready at the painters for collection - I asked for "funky" colours - fingers crossed and pics soon !

Just saw it on the Good Game website.

Nice work! :)

I'm taking it, that either of the two presenters didn't turn up and check out your collection, or have I got the wrong end of the stick there?

Since they split the show into two , a kids version and adults version the presenters rarely leave the studio these days , it was in fact one of their researcher/producers who did the interview.

here is the link

Wow. You come across really well - that's excellent. I would have been a jabbering nervous fool :) and I haven't seen NFS on Telly since 1994 -- good job :) :) :)

Were you nervous?

PS: What's a CD32? ;)

Also, I love how you positioned the FZ-10 box so that it can be seen over your shoulder through the bulk of the interview. Out-freakin-standing!
