I found one of these things for $3. Basically it allows you to use your SNES controllers with the 3do.

Anyone know if these are worth anything?

It's brand new, btw.

I've heard that they are not correctly working and there is about a half second between pressing a button and reaction of a character. Haven't used it by myself.
Anyway the price is not for thinking) 3$ ) Just buy and if it's crap - put this crap on a shelf 'cause it is a part of history)

lol, I already bought the thing. I was just wondering if it was worth anything.

I don't have a 3DO to test this thing on unfortunately :(

An unusual purchasing decision.

Well I'm planning on getting a 3DO soon, so I went ahead and picked this up.

It's not like it was $40 or something :l

Well if you don't end up getting a 3DO I'll take that off your hands.

snes to 3DO adapter

possibly there is no intrest in resurecting such old thread, but since i've already put 3 days of my time into this, maybe it would be good for someone somewhere if i shared the results

i've developed simple SNES to 3DO adaptor, currently supporting only one controller - its not that its complicated when you've basics covered, but i would like to get some feedback or buttons mappings first

so here we go

schematics - (warining - do not mount R1 and R2, add 20mhz crystal to pins #4 and #5 of MCU)

board layout - easy enough to do at home with modest setup

assembly drawings

HEX file for programming AVR - please set CLKDIV8 to disabled and CLKSEL so it would use crystal over 8mhz (1110 it was)

this board was designed to fit inside KM-100B case by maszczyk

pins for SNES ports were taken from split DB25 male plug as i couldn't find any supplier for these sockets locally

Well that's a pretty cool project. Any chance you could make an adapter to use a controller on the CD-i?

like this one?
http://www.alpinecom.net/phackmann/cdiadapter/index.php

since i don't own cd-i system it could be very time consuming for both of us, are you devoted enough to do this?

remote debugging and developing would require you to maka an adapter i would design and flash it every time i would send you new hex for mcu

otoh its not as hopeless as it might seem, since it uses quite simple serial protocol, and the guy that made above adapter did nice thing releasing technical data about protocols used in cd-i
