Storage Manager disc backup?

Post by Game Over? » Wed Apr 07, 2010 12:18 pm

I have the Store Manager cd for the FZ-EM256 memory backup unit. It works like a charm, so that's not the problem. I want to make a backup, so that I'll still have the disc if something happens to the original one. Can anyone tell me how this works? My PC and MAC will not even read the data on the disc...

I'm very sorry if these kind of questions are not allowed, but I hope you will be able to help me :D

Hi Game Over? and welcome to this Forum,

I tried to burn CDs with Toast on the Mac but that didn't work out.
Since then I am using the free program ImgBurn where you can burn and rip your 3DO CDs. Works like a charm:

Lucky you having the FZ-EM256. I am in the process of ordering one myself but the HK store that I ordered from gives me nothing but headache.

OR you could just go to the sticky If you need a MEMORY MANAGER... in the forum you posted in and download the disc that's already been ripped.
"Wait. You don't have a bag of charcoal in your gaming room???"

Just a note. It wont show any data on a 3do disc when you put it in a PC drive. Thats the way it is supposed to be. You can still make a 1:1 copy of the disc for backup purposes though with just about any program. You can then test it on your 3do to make sure it was a good copy. It should boot.

I did see that, but I thought it would be easier to just copy my own disc.

Thanks, that really helps. I did manage to make an image using a specific program, and then I put the image on a disc. However, the disc did not boot. It may be because of the type of disc I used, a Sony one. Maybe it will work with other types?

Which 3DO console do you have? The Panasonic 3DOs usually cause not much problems with CD-Rs while the Samsung is extremely picky. I have yet to find a CD-R brand that works on my PAL Samsung.

It's a Panasonic FZ-1.

Oh then you shouldn't have much trouble. My FZ-1 took any CD-R I threw at it so far. For example Intenso and Verbatim.
I finally got a hand on a FZ-EM256 myself. Way expensive man but I hope it will be fine. It should come with the CD so fingers crossed. Delivery will probably take its time. So got to wait now and hope for the best.

The best program for doing 1:1 copies is CloneCD. ;)
