Oh that is soooo awesome! Why is the really cool stuff always the stuff people find? I wish I could have been that lucky. If anything it's cool to look at and say, "niccccce!".

The collector tends to be a bit of a monomaniacal beast. It's like online gaming; the casual interloper is hopelessly outclassed in practically all cases.

You really can't beat finding something on the side of the road. I wish more people would be so considerate to include the box and manuals for their valuable trash! That player is crazy, I had no idea they made them like that.

My cat apologizes about the double-post. I can tell by her look of nonchalance she feels terrible.

AHHH TrIpLe post??? I feel a ban request coming on! j/k

Well I have a similar video game story. A friend of mine was visiting on my b-day and she was visiting me with her nephew. I get a phone call several minutes after she left. She found a NEO-GEO arcade machine set out for the trash! Fully working! I had a friend help me go get it for free. Happy Birthday indeed.

For those who want details it was a single cart converted JAMMA cab with 10 Count Bout.

The best I could find on the side of the road was a pizza delivery car sign. Ended up slapping it on top of someone else's car in the middle of the night. I still want to know what they thought when going to work the next morning..

i found a philips cdi 220 player with 2 controllers and like 12 ish games (both zeldas and hotel mario) in the trash. all i had to do was take the top off and manually eject the games , so they threw it out because the door wouldnt open, it had a game in it when i found it
all games but 1 had manuals, no system manual but i got a few game catalogs

Thats why when something stops working, I try to fix it or make a work around for it. I don't throw out much. I'm not a hoarder though! Although that spare room of mine is starting to pile up with boxes..... Ok, I will clean that room... one of these days.

OMG You don't even know! It's gotten way worse than the old pics. You only have a few places to step and I now have a WEGA sitting in the doorway facing out so I can play something on it. JagCD right now... as I still can't find my carts.:x

Truly rocking pics.

Ahhhh LaserDisc... Oh that reminds me... *looks up to see if Angel Sanctuary is on LD* nope! Looks like I need to grab the DVD.

I was planning on doing some serious movie and show watching this weekend. I believe I'll have to fire up the LD player as well. Not sure what to watch on it. I'm thinking Lawnmower Man 141 minute special edition, I managed to get my soft little hands on a rare Letterboxed copy but haven't watched it on my big screen yet.

Anyone wanna come over to snuggle up and watch movies with me?

Ooh! Ooh! *flails hand*

Anyway, bad news, as I expected something's effed up inside the player. I suspect it's just 30 years worth of dust, but the electronics in this thing are so complex I'm hesitant to take it apart.
It's uses a helium laser tube. That sh*t is delicate.
Or, wouldn't it be great if I fixed the problem, but couldn't get the damn thing back together again.
Anyway, I'm keeping it around. One of these days I'll risk fixing it, just not right now.
Oh! And some better news, my Sega CD has come back to life! Now I can play Sonic Megamix 4.0 again.
