Video Extraction

Has anyone ever come up with a way to successfully extract video from 3DO discs?

I'm currently looking at my Night Trap disc after dumping it with that operaFS deal and I see a large .bin file and from what I can gather from it, it must be the video container, yet I can't get anything to pick up on video from it, virtual dub fails miserably, vlc opens it but doesn't seem to be able to make heads or tails out of it.

Is there anything out there that can disect and view/convert the video streams ?

The closest I've come is pulling clean audio out of some. There are multiple kinda of video encoding that the 3DO supports. FFmpeg did give me a little success with video but the picture was messed up with horrible audio. I do not recall what format I was trying to rip. If you are familiar with FFmpeg you should start there.

Most of what I have seen used is Cinepak, but I couldn't find the appropraitely old enough codec. Extracting is no problem, playing it another. But yeah, there are others.

Maybe a player/plugin can be put together with code from the freedo source? I am not good with this kind of stuff so I don't really know but I know it's probably possible.

Rather than this, I would humbly suggest getting a hold of an old TV video input card and recording captured video directly to .avi on your computer. It's not the perfect solution, but it would be clean.

I was just about ban request you for pinching all my videos. Then I realised they were my videos, and that link will only ever point to 'your own' videos.

Lemmi, what's your youtube username?
