well lets find out what he owns now and see what he has to sell off to get that money

Who was he claiming expenses off of? I mean, who did he work for, or what company did he run etc, to be able to claim these? Made me realise I haven't a clue what he does these days.

What Trip needs is a kick up the arse. Why should everyone else pay tax while he is spending far more money than he ever needed to live comfortably?

I love the 3DO, but doesnt mean i would condone these such patheticly inconsiderate actions. What makes him so much better than other humans than he doesnt have to pay taxes on his income?

well, we just don't know the full story yet. Maybe poor old Trip just a really crappy accountant doing his tax returns.

The moral of the story is, everyone else pays taxes to their means if your rich you should pay your fucking taxes to! you can't run away from the government!

Sorry to say this but if he cheated on his taxes he deserves to rot in prison end of story.

There was a link to another article on the forums before that had more details. There is a difference between cheating on your taxes and being smart about what you do with your earnings. Just because our government thinks they are entitled to his money (or anyone else's) doesn't mean they can break the laws they set up because he bent them.

Every time I hear someone say "The "rich" should pay more taxes" I laugh.
Here, in California, the top 1% of earners are paying nearly 50% of the taxes. I'd say that the "rich" are paying their share.

EDIT: PS: Hawkins can afford this. His stock in EA was probably huge, Matsushita stumped up $100 million for M2. Plus $20million is the headline figure, once lawyers and tax experts weasel their magic it won't be anywhere near that. Fear not, I'm sure Uncle Hawkins will be fine. Failing that, we'll club together together to get cardboard boxes and baked beans for him. Worst case, i have a spare room.

I was just ranting about the ridiculous financial situation my wonderful state finds itself in and the "ideas" it has about fixing it.

Oh yes, and our state decided to start taxing the American Indians to try and get out of the muck we're in.

Plus not only did it refuse to pay back or give the land back that they owed but now they aren't even letting American Indians buy back the land!!!

The Native Americans want to pay New York State for the land that they should be getting for free. And NY refuses to take their money!

All I meant was IF he is guilty for not paying taxes THEN he deserves to go to prison plain and simple. I know taxes are unfair in some states, I live in Nebraska right now and I recently moved from Nevada and both have very reasonable tax codes. However considering I don't follow this particular story and honestly I don't care that much I will leave you all at it.
