The puzzles in D....
I'd love to get this game for my 3DO, but are do the puzzles in this game make sense (like Shadowgate for the NES, for example), or are they more obscure? I realize that Shadowgate has a different interface in game, but the puzzles made sense to me, even if it took me a while to figure them out.
I'd just rather not get a game where it's bang your head against the wall time!

I have to say it's a pretty easy game. The only part that might trip you up is if you don't know your astrological signs. The only other part you might not figure out is given away in the intro video. It's a great game, I play it all the time even though not much changes.

the puzzles are pretty intuitive...they should be considering the time limit constraits of the game

The Dreamcast has D2, although it's quite a bit different from the 3DO original.dave4shmups wrote:Sounds great; I'll have to pick it up sometime! Yeah, I guess you're right. D2 also had something funny going on with it in regards to story, right? Like the Laura in that isn't the same Laura from the first D, or at least, it's not pointed out that either game is linked? Something weird about it anyway, I think the Happy Video Game Nerd talks about it in his pretty in-depth review of the D series.

It's not the story that ties Enemy Zero (or D2 for that matter) to D, it's the gameplay. They both use the same puzzle adventure gameplay run in FMV, though Enemy Zero splits it evenly with a first person shooter mode. That said, while I absolutely love Enemy Zero and rate it as one of those rare like-no-other gaming experiences, I find the puzzle element to be considerably weaker than D's.

Yeah E0 was scifi-horror, you are on a space station (or ship, I can't recall) and you have to track down the alien with sound because you can't see it.
In D2 it's the same character as in D, but in E0 it's just the same digital actress. The D2 that came out for the Dreamcast was a very different kind of game than the original D.
