Still haven't completely decided whether I should get this game or not. So I idly check out some gameplay footage on YouTube, and the musical style immediately rings a bell. After about two minutes I realize why.

Burke Trieschmann did the soundtrack for this one, didn't he?

no idea about the music but i played the crap out of the demo cd game untill the price on the actual game came down back in the day, took 2 years to get a cheap copy in the mid 2000s ($50+ for just the CD back then)

heh from 1997 to 2002 i used my magazines to pick games, now its youtube lol

i say get it, or the demo cd its on to try it out first

I think it's great bit repetitive by nature but it's fun and generally plays looks and sounds good too. Definitely a decent game to add to the collection.

Sounds good. I had a check on GameFAQs and their listing for the game says the music was indeed by our good old friend Mr. Trieschmann. I'll have to keep an eye out for a reasonably-priced copy.

Been a bit. My first post in almost a year I think has to be about this game. If you like stuff like Smash T.V. or LOADED style game play with some really well done, cartoony graphics, get Captain Quazar. Very cool game and worth the play through. Very fun and yes, the music is very well done and fun as well.

I remember liking the game but didn't give it enough time to get sucked in. I recall one of the things that didn't grab me was that the levels are pretty large and sprawling--it's not as straightforward as a typical top-down, arcade-style shooter. I prefer my shooters like this to be more linear. I don't remember being able to strafe either, which made combat cumbersome for me. I'd like to give it another go sometime, it's been a few years since I last played it.
