Any thoughts about adding a forum for Game Guru codes? I think it would be a great addition.

We could do.

I've always found it hard getting Game Guru to do anything. Even with the advanced cheat. I tried to get Alone in the Dark 2 to give me more life to no avail.

I'm gonna try to dig up my old videogame magazines from 1996. I seem to remember a few that had sections for Game Guru codes. I know 3DO magazine also ran Game Guru codes, but I'm missing the last 3 issues.

Thanks for the link Lemmi. There are a lot of codes here that I have never seen before. Can't wait to play around with them!

Greetings,

If you're intrested in more Guru codes, let me know. All the new ones at 3DO Today I wrote under my old TOMSERVO3K nick.

Gir Draxa .... is that short for Gir Draxon? Why is your log in name linked with such an awful game? (Draxon's Revenge) I love your sites though. :D I haven't spent too much time playing around w/the game guru, but I am interested in any info ... it seems like there is a lot of potential in the disc. I'd love to see whatever you had.

Greetings,

Well it is nice to meet a fan. :-)

Time permitting, I hope to eventually restore the collectives to their former status, but right now, the only space I was offered, I can't access, and the current one is frozen in time. :(

There is alot of power in the game guru for those willing to take their time with it. The hacks for THE TOWER though really required the Memory Unit.

Just list a game with a saved game file, and I'll see what I can hack.

:D

Actually, for it's day, I enjoed Stellar 7 for the Apple II. I was shocked when it became a Sega CD game as STELLAR FIRE (way better intro than 3DO  ). The game had it's faults, and should never have been so poorly ported. But then the Sega CD did BATTLECORPS, and 3DO did SHADOW: WAR OF SUCCESSION (yes I played both through many times... they still sucked!), so its not hard to see where they might have thought Stellar 7 was a step up. Compare it with it's 7 color (if you count 2 shades of black, and 2 shades of white) APPLE II brother, and you'll see its actually quite improved.

I think the port of DOMARK's ABSOLUTE ZERO was a much better executed title and should have seen press, but it was too late in the 3DO lifespan.

Last gen 3DO (or first Gen PS2 if you really want to argue the point) games like DISRUPTOR, UMK3 and IRON & BLOOD (M2 actually) show they knew how to correct their problems of the past. (Iron & Blood was quite possibly the dumbest port I have ever seen.)

BTW, speaking of M2, do you guys want the other M2 demo video from the 3DO LIVE! discs that showed off the 'racing game'?

The M2 racer. Yes, I'd love to see the video for that. That was being hyped to high heaven during '96. Wasn't it released in some form or another by Konami? I'll check.

3DO kid.

While we are on the subject, how about starting a whole section just on M2? We have forums for trades & reivews ... I think M2 deserves it's own spot too! Surely between all of us we could fill it up with info (heck we probably know more about the machine than most anyone else on the net.) :P

Greetings,

I am digging for it now. I actually converted it to DIVX about a year or so ago and never did anything with it. :(

I believe the demo is on 3DO!LIVE 8.

Greetings,

Well, 8 is the full D2 demo with Kenji Eno, and screenshots. 9 has some killer M2 demo screenshots. 7 has the "racing game" demo from E3, plus 2 of the E3 game screenshots. (I have about more 10 of them from a presskit scan someone gave me years back, if you folks are intrested.)

If you folks are intrested, I will just re-cap the video this weekend and post it to YOUTUBE.

I've no place to put the pics at the moment, but (as I posted in the m2 section too), here's the racing game demo!

Getting back to the Game Guru, are there any codes for Phoenix 3? I tried some codes listed in 3DO Magazine (999 lives, ammo etc...) but they don't work :(

I made mention of this in another post, but I think it should go here as well.
For those of us with a Game Guru there is a secret 3 minute video hidden within the Game Guru made by the developers. For those wishing to give it a look do the following:

Choose "Enter Code" at the main menu and highlight the "GameGuru.CFG" file. Type in "IHAVETHEVIDEO2" and press C.

Those guys had a decent 3DO collection.

you can also patch in the code "IDONTWANTTHE POWER" to get back to normal mode in the GURU.

Yes, there are codes for Phoenix 3, but there are some that are bogus. I'll pull out my GG and see which is which this coming weekend.
