Bundled Games

I'm looking for some information on the games that were bundled with 3DO systems at various times. Those I'm aware of are:

Goldstar (black "flying" box)
- FIFA International Soccer
- Shockwave

Goldstar (Pink "face" box)
- FIFA International Soccer
- Shockwave
- Putt Putt Joins The Parade
- Kodak Photo CD

Panasonic FZ-10
- Total Eclipse
- Gex

What I'd like to know is what format did these come in? There doesn't seem to be enough space in the box for a long box, but some like FIFA and Shockwave you never see in anything but, so I'm confused! Were they mail in coupons, or just in a slip case?

Were there any other bundles that people know of?

Thanks!

wow good test of my poor memory.... only one I can recall for sure was "Goldstar (black "flying" box)" they did not come in long boxes. I believe they were just in envelopes but did come with the longbox type manuals.

my bundled goldstar games have not for resale on them, FIFA and Shockwave, mine arrived in regular jewel cases so probably they were put in there for easy access
anyone have a picture of what the original holders looked like, were they just generic paper CD holders with a window?

my FZ10 just had Gex, i never saw one with total eclipse

My FZ-10 actually only came with Total Eclipse, Gex was a mail in coupon.

Thanks for the info so far. I've also got a copy of Starblade and Crash 'n Burn that have "Not For Resale" on the jewel cases, so were these bundled at some point?

I had an fz-10 which came bundled with Gex. Jewel case game. An cd case insert instruction manual, color (at least the outward logo portion), not for resale stamped.

My current 3do, a Goldstar, a pink face box model, came with FIFA and Shockwave. Looks like they just slapped a sticker on the box for whatever they decided to throw in. Black and white inserts not for resale.

Here is a pic of the game contents inside of a brand new Goldstar unit. The games came in jewel cases with the "Not For Resale" stickers and were held inside of the small black 3DO box at the top of the picture.
The game manuals are inside of the plastic bag with the console manual and various documentation.

Thanks bitrate, that's useful. Never seen that black box unit before. I never understand why if people keep the boxes they don't keep everything that goes with it...

The FZ-1 originally shipped with Crasn N Burn in the US.

I thought it was just a copy of the disc and manual with no box and a small jewel case. I could be wrong

Yes, I believe it only came in a jewel case for two reasons

1) I've got a copy of one and on the back cover of the case it's got the NOT FOR RESALE on it

2) The long box is very rare!

3) The disk is different, silver for NFR version, red for the commercial long box edition.

The only one that I've seen in a longbox that was probably bundled that way is Total Eclipse. Reason I say that is I've got a copy of the longbox, again with the NOT FOR RESALE stamp on it.

somewhere on this site i posted the 2 copies of the crash n burn cds

so the silver one is the not for resale? even tho is doesnt say it on the CD?
i cant remember what was said but i think someone said the silver one is from the UK (but i could be way off on that)

i couldnt find the thread but here is the scan

Yes, I've had a bunch of the NFR versions of Crash 'n Burn and they've all been the silver version, the only red one I've seen was the one that came in the long box.

The UK version could also be silver, quite a few games used the same disc for US/UK.

I wouldn't say the long box is very rare, it's just much easier to come by the silver disc version. The store in the mall near where I lived at the time had a bunch of these for sale all the time. Not a very smart move of them stocking it since if you had the system you basically already had the game.
