Unreleased 3DO game (video + pics): NHL Hockey '96

Post by bitrate » Tue Jan 15, 2008 3:09 am

While going through more of my collection I have come across some video's of various 3DO games both released and unreleased. I thought I would begin the process on encoding the video's and sharing them with my fellow 3DO fans.

Below are some pics taken from the video showing NHL Hockey '96 for the 3DO. I have also posted a link below the pics to the actual video of the game play that I uploaded to youtube. Youtube's craptacular processing makes the game look much worse than it actually is. For an idea of what I'm talking about just compare the pics of my encode below to the video you see on youtube.

Might have been nice to have a hockey game for the 3DO :(

you could always upload the video to rapidshare or another file sharing site so the quality wouldnt be ruined for the real 3do fans :D (hint, hint) ;)

now i have an itch to play Genesis NHL 97 :D

i thought the game was hardly even started?
could this clip was from another videogame system?

nice to see my Red Wings in the clip tho

I'm impressed with how smoothly it runs. I wonder if there were ever any betas floating around.

One could only hope these last gen 3do games show up... This and UMK3 were what I was hoping for... what a swan song that would've been.

Sure thing. I'll put it up tonight and post a link at the top of this thread.

Seem to runs fast.. but was the 3do capable of pulling off graphics as seen on NHL 98 for saturn?

The 3do wasn't as strong as the Saturn, so I'd kinda doubt a game like NHL 98 could've been made. I think the 3do graphical prowess lies between the SNES and Saturn.

I know some games on the 3do NFS for example are better then psx-saturn versions. So they should have at least been able to come close to the psx. This game is more like a 32x version of a sports game. I figured the 3do was capable of better.
