My FZ-10 3DO stop working when I try to make it read CD-R backup disc
(I just got my 3DO and doesn't have any original disc).
At first it can operate fine but not reading the backup disc. after 20 minute it just shut it self off and when I tried to powered it on again only the red light is on and there are no signal to TV.
the symthom are
1.when I switching it on,only the red light (ready) is on.
2.There are no signal to the television.
3.The CD is not spinning (even audio-CD)
4.some kind of buzzing noise can be heard when it powered on
Can someone give me some advice?

Shouldn't this be under Technical Support? Not trying to be a jerk, I just think this should go/be_moved there.
A section would prob be better than just a sticky, than the admins could move the many other topics there. It would clean things up and make them easier to find.

I am sorry. Don't know that I have to post in that thread , I thought it was just a suggestion topic.
For my FZ-10 problem,I already send it to repair.
Cant wait to play sailor moon & Way of the warrior. ^_^

Given the # of posts since that have bypassed this section, it seems you are correct. Stickys are just too easy to overlook it seems ...

Maybe you should wait until he gets a few more posts under his belt ... if he starts praising VR Stalker though, I say go for it!

(I kid my fellow 3do fan)

Sailor Moon is a decent import atleast.

you bring the matches...

You have the worst timing ever. I'm out of matches, but I have a tub full of homemade napalm. I just got the ignition-friendly mixture of orange juice concentrate-to-petrol, too.

That'll do. You bring the napalm. I have a lighter round here somewhere.
I mean Way of the Warrior. FFS. It really is a Sir Turds-a-lot of a game, but every so often someone bounds onto this forum/blog declaring their undying love for it.
I have to beg belief people feel this way about Mortal Kombat, but WotW? no. no. no. no.

Think we've scared off the fresh meat yet?
I can believe people like WOTW, considering that the fighting game library on the 3DO only has one serious contender and a lot of crap. Honestly, though I think the game is laughably bad, I could pick it up and play it a bit back in the day, if only for lack of something better to do and the fact that I was way too good at Street Fighter.
But really, on the forum I'm helping rebuild, I'm in the middle of an argument with some dude who likes Halo and dislikes Earthbound. That's when you question whether or not humanity is devolving.

I weep for a generation. Halo: it was alright. I don't like FPS (black and golden eye are excused) but I played Halo, I didn't cheat, and I finished it. Could I be arsed to play Halo 2? No. No I couldn't. How far did I get on Halo 3? Less far than I did in GTA4, and that wasn't far.
I tell you what. There is a whole generation of nerd, that doesn't hate Microsoft, thinks games started with Doom, and thinks rumble is the be-all-and-end-all of gaming.
There is, as responsible adults, only one thing for us to do: Purge with fire.
I've never played Earthbound, but a recommendation from you, I will now.

Halo was decent, but it was a 2001 kind of decent. When the series failed to improve, it became 2004 lackluster and 2008 bad. Too bad the gaming media has a bad case of sequel worship.
Anyway, hope you like Earthbound. Technologically speaking, it's backwards even for the SNES. But it's that kind of game I can't even conceive being greenlighted in an American market, for the pure, distilled... Japaneseness of the humor as pertains to Western culture. My longstanding theory is that somebody fed a bunch of five-year-olds acid, waved his arms wildly, shouted "You're going on an adventure! YOU'RE GOING ON AN ADVENTURE!" and wrote down everything they said, using that as EB's design document.

Let's face it. Small children on acid is going to be a great deal more creative than about 80% of what's being released.

I count two ... SFII & Sam. Sho. (tempted to list a 3rd & say Primal Rage, but I prefer to be on the giving end of zings & not the receiving.

Never played earthbound either, but I respect any rpg that doesn't have the same cliched stories that we've been hearing for the past 20 yrs. I also dug the huge box it shipped in w/the guide included for free.
I'll prob. wait till it gets release on virtual console.

I've said it before, I'll say it again: Sam Sho rocked everywhere where the term PAL means nothing. Sam Sho was a train wreck in PAL-Land.
SF2 was indeed very good. I'd even stick my neck out for Sailor Moon, and maybe even Yu Yu. At stretch, and my rose-tinto-scope set to blood red: Ultraman. But not WotW. Never.
Naugty Dog have only ever made one game I liked: uncharted. Everything else, and I just checked wikipedia, sucked as far as I am concerned.
My 3DO is fixed

It working perfectly now.
About my love for way of the warrior , it the first 3DO game I had ever play 13 years ago at my local game shop.
In those day I only have super famicom and couldn't afford 3DO high prices (i believed it over 900$ in my country).
playing it again sure bring back my sweet memory. ^_^
Is it still possible to find original copy of these game in resonable price?
- way of the warrior
- sailor moon s
- yu yu hakusho

Way of the Warrior is best found on eBay, with a bit of patience, you can get it for a good price.
As for the other two (Yu Yu and Sailor Moon) again eBay or you can try MOJ. MOJ are a proxy bidding service for Yahoo Japan. The two links you need are:
Mail Order Japan. (Azuma is a good chap.)
http://www.aazumatrading.com/yahoo-auct ... /index.php
and Yahoo Japan 3DO stuff.
http://list4.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/20 ... -leaf.html
The other option is post what you want on this forum, how much you are willing to pay for each game and see if someone on here as a duplicate they want to sell you.

I can relate to you auburn ... I have similar feelings about Jurrasic Park Interactive. Nostalga has a tendency to overcome poor gameplay.

Lack of games has a tendancy to force you to play something you wasted £40 on. Then through gritted teeth, you enjoy it.
It goes something like this:
You got your brand new console? CHECK! The one you've been waiting for? CHECK! You're all excited. CHECK! Now -- whadaya play? Oh - crap. You didn't think that far ahead. So you just grab. Like mad. And in the case of the 3DO, you kept grabbing. Eventually NFS came along and it seemed to justify everything.
I remember grabbing Megarace. Lulled into a false sense of buying-madness by the clever use of bright-white in the game. As you all may recall, Lens-flare and Mega-white was all the rage in games in back in 1994-5. (A bit like bowling sub-games are now, and 3d horses were a couple of years back!)
I played Megarace - but I never enjoyed it.
I think the only equivalent I can think of, was Burning Road on the original Playstation. I wasted £45 (about $70 at the time) and it was bad. Really bad. But I kept playing. And kept trying. And I sort of convinced myself it wasn't the horrible unplayable mess it actually was.

There is a cautionary tale right there. One, I think I should all have heeded.
Keep grabbing - you become a collector.

(i'll guess he'll fit right in!)
Only it seems I paid a lot more for my 3DO stuff than Lemmi.
Lemmi, Surely you could sell your collection and buy Luxembourg or something with the profits.

that aint the half of it, it started with the sega CD a month earlier i think i had about 12 games before i moved onto the 3do

then a month later it was the jaguar but i only had 5 total games as those were still selling for $20+ a pop and VERY hard to find new, but later i bought another jag system with 22 games then the CD add on with 8 games
the total cost of my jag collection is $497, the 3DO used to be $4537, but its down to $3000 now since ive sold a few high priced items
, after the Jag was the Saturn i got a blockbuster rental with the hardcase that was only rented out 3 times total for $50 and as usual i bought every game i wanted right away now i have like 86 of them
i have all my receipts from 97 to now, i should make a thread and post what my entire video game collection cost me

plenty of interesting prices like the mint sega CD game snatcher i bought for $15 at a fleamarket and just sold for $120
yeah the ink runs out or dries up but the date on them was still good and i did regular ink tests when i didnt use the printer for awhile, i maybe used these ink carts 9 times after buying them a year ago so it isnt the empty factor its something else and HP support isnt any help its like they dont know their own products, i guess if the printer isnt a year old they dont care about it, mine is 3 or 4 years old and looks brand new
what pisses me off is you cant use the scanner when the printer is screwed up, the only thing i havent tried is to remove the program and reinstal fresh without all the updates over the years to see if that helps
well back to the Red Wing parade coverage on TV ... lol

When I bought Zaxxon Motherbase 2000 for the 32x a few months back, the guy sent it to me with a receipt. He bought it right when it came out back in 1995 in Toys R Us. I have no clue why he decided to keep the receipt and ship it to me with the game.

That has happened to me a few times before too. Oldest one I've ever got was for an Atari 2600 game!

Talk about a vintage receipt ... nearly 30 years old!
