...Not with the flight stick pro it isn't but still.

Well, the industry seems to have finally beaten me. For years I have stood by my undying hatred of FPS games. It was a matter principle. It slipped for Golden Eye, and faltered for Black. And then Resistance Fall of man. Well IT WAS on the PS3. Then Halflife 2. Then I kind of enjoyed Tetsujin 2 on the 3DO. And COD4 on the PS3.

...I've caved haven't I?

Anyway - this, Killing Time, is actually pretty good.

(halo is still pants mind you ;) )

No way! K.T. is even better with the Flight Stick Pro! You can turn your head while walking forward and everything!

"Easy" in this is just a euphemism for not quite psycho-hard-but-very-nearly isn't it?

I just finished the first level. (Damn ducks!) I'm not sure what is going on, but the sound track is all kinds of brilliant.

i love killing time , one of my all time favorite games on any system . the story line is awesome , the music rules , my only issues is the choppiness of the game at some points , and the fact that there's no melee weapon when you run out of bullets . i also have it on the pc , but it's not very good on the pc ....does have a crowbar tho

Is FreeDO working with this game? Last time I booted her up it was too choppy to tolerate, and my 3DO is sitting in some pawn shop and the money somebody sold it for is in some Mexican's butt and the crack that money paid for is metabolizing itself in some car booster's bloodstream.

It works ok in Freedo 1.9.

You need a PC faster than greased lightning to get the best from 1.9 mind you.

If it doesnt play fullspeed in 1.9 try 1.7 , btw...

Killing Time is a good game. I still play it now and then on my FZ-1 when i take it out of it's hiding spot. It did not age well though. The framerate is pretty craptastic, but you get used to it. And the game did have quite the difficulty, but it is beatable.

Okay - so I just started playing again. I went towards the kitchen, I believe, through what looked like ballroom, it was full of the gamekeeper guys, and more of those damned ducks.

Anyway, having learnt that this game is little more tactical than your average FPS, I skirted round the edge and wasted them all. Pretty cool.

So anyway, I cleaned them all out, and I make my way to the centre of this hall, but something happened. There was scream, and the screen went black, like when you die, except I wasn't dead and then I was in sewer. And there were these green things rolling around.

The game gave me a flame thrower and plenty of ammo and all was going well. Except for the sound effects that were scaring me stupid. Anyway, I turned a corner and million bats buried me.

Game over :(

Some of the enemy animations are pretty cool. I just watched a chef chucking meat cleavers around, and then a clown with big hands. Amazing stuff. Plus the FMV, the human ghosts? They act pretty good. There is a sequence where two women are scoring points against each other in a conversation and it's acted really well. You can sense the animosity in the conversion.

The frame rate is as choppy as hell but... (i can forgive that!)

Man the sewer is quite difficult. I have always hated that section. Seems I always go very slow through it killing things from far away. I think there is a vessel down there you need to progress though. Goog luck finding them all for the best ending... If you can call it that lol.

I just had some old wine-o throwing bottles of gin/wine/spirits at me.

Yeah, this title used to give me motion sickness :) Due to the choppy frame rate.

It's playable now though, I think i just like the name

The worst part to me is the adega, where are the wine barrels.. there's only one real path to follow, all the other paths sends you to the start point.

At first, I thought that was a bug or something

That would be very interesting. I already made a massive soundtrack off the 3DO disc but I'd like to see the alternate ending.

And personally I found it easier to play the game with the flight stick pro. I don't know why people stick hate.

Okay, so I've had a go on PC KillingTime! (don't ask where I got it ;) )

it's 50% 3DO killingTime, things like bushes seem to have moved across, and the life restoring glowing orbs, and some animations of the main evil-woman but that's about it.

Graphically, it's more like a 3rd or 4th generation Playstation1 game, it's noticeably better than the 3DO version... but I don't know...

I reckon it's lost it's charm. Plus it is no where near as scary as the 3DO version either.

I had this PC game back in the day. Outside the mansion is totaly different. and i dont remember the inside having some changes too. I think i ended up just firing up the 3do version instead.

PS. I can try to do a digital rip of the 3do killing time music like I did for the 3do doom music if anyone is interested.

yeah loved this game from the first time I fired it up - I got two gaming buddies to assist me - I was good with mazes , one friend at shooting and another at puzzles . It took all three of us constantly handing around the controller over 3 days to complete. The ending was worth it and yeah looking at the frame rate now its choppy but in 1996 it was nirvana!
